  • In 3qt pot, combine barbecue sauce, pineapple chunks and chili paste. Stir.
  • Add mini sausages and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Serve hot.

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground mustard
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup white vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 pounds miniature smoked sausages

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, flour and mustard. Gradually stir in the pineapple juice, vinegar and soy sauce. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Add sausages; stir to coat. Cook, uncovered, until heated through, about 5 minutes longer. Serve warm.

28 oz Hillshire Farm® Lit'l Smokies® Smoked Sausage
1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
1/3 cup soy sauce
20 oz can of pineapple chunks
1/3 cup pineapple juice from the can
1 tsp ground ginger

Steps:

  • Place BBQ sauce in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Add pineapple, and pineapple juice.
  • Add soy sauce.
  • Add ground ginger and gently stir.
  • Add the smoked sausage and stir. Place in slow cooker.
  • Turn slow cooker to high and cook 90 minutes. Turn slow cooker to warm once desired temperature has been reached. Serve.

We had a luau for my step-daughter's 5th birthday and we found a recipe for Luau Smokies on the internet. We messed around with it a bit and this is what we came up with. We used 2 packages of Lil' Smokies like the recipe suggests but next time we will be doubling that amount. These things disappeared really quickly. They have a good balance between tangy and sweet and they really go well with the rest of the luau food. The best thing is that after it's cooked, you just throw it in a crock pot and forget about it!

1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons flour
3 teaspoons ground mustard
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice

1/2 cup soy sauce
2 lbs lil' smokies

Steps:

  • In a pan, heat oil over Medium heat. Saute onion until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • In a large saucepan, combine onions, brown sugar, flour and mustard.
  • Gradually stir in pineapple juice and chunks, vinegar and soy sauce.
  • Bring to a boil over Medium heat, stirring frequently.
  • Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add Lil' Smokies and stir to coat.
  • Serve in a crock pot set on Warm.

  • Combine all ingredients in a 2-3 quart slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1.5-2 hours until heated through.
  • Taste and adjust as needed (you can add more spice or more sweetness as you desire before serving).

  • Put smokies into slow cooker. In a bowl whisk together all other ingredients listed until smooth.
  • Pour this on top of your weiners and stir so they are all coated.
  • Cover with lid and cook on low for 4 hours. Can garnish with some fresh pineapple chunks and chopped parsley on top when done. Set to warm if it will be sitting for day long snacking.
