MELTED SNOWMAN PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
Steps:
- Melt the candy melting wafers according to the package directions. Spoon some of the melted candy on top of a cookie and spread it so it covers most of the cookie but has an irregular border. Place a slice of marshmallow toward the top edge and spoon some more melted candy on top, smoothing it to fully cover the marshmallow and blend it into the candy on the cookie.
- Decorate the face of the snowman with mini chocolate chips for eyes and an orange sprinkle as a carrot nose. Place a peanut butter cup half on top of the snowman's head like a hat. Use other sprinkles to add a mouth or buttons if desired. Repeat with the remaining candy, cookies and decorations (rewarming the candy melts if necessary). Let the cookies set, about 10 minutes.
SNOWMAN TREATS
My daughter, Hannah, and I came up with this recipe on Christmas Eve when she wanted to make treats for Santa. Building a real snowman is fun, but we think coating one in candy is even cooler! -Lori Daniels, Beverly, West Virginia

PEANUT BUTTER SNOWMEN
Steps:
- Place white chocolate chips and shortening in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute; stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. If necessary, microwave on high for additional 30 second intervals until mixture is smooth. If you prefer, place in double boiler over low heat, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
- Meanwhile, pierce 1 end of each cookie with a toothpick. Use the toothpick to dip entire cookie into the white chocolate mixture. Let excess drip back into bowl and lay cookie on wire rack. Before the white chocolate has a chance to cool, decorate the cookie with various candies into a playful snowman.
- Place chocolate sprinkles as eyebrows, blue or green dots for eyes, an orange sprinkle placed vertically for the nose and several red nonpareils for a mouth. Cut a gumdrop in half, slice a sliver from each half lengthwise to form a crescent shaped brim to the hat. Top off the hat with a gumdrop half and reserve the other half for another snowman. You may have to flatten the gumdrop a bit to fit the snowman.
- After the snowman has completely dried, tie a red string licorice around the neck as a scarf. Using a rolling pin to flatten the licorice will make it easier for the scarf to stay tied and look natural.

- Frozen Snowman Banana Pops. We wouldn't recommend snacking on these frozen banana pops right after building a real snowman, but once you're warm and toasty inside, they make a great winter treat.
- Skillet Snowman Cheese Dip. This snowman may have melted into a puddle of white cheese, but it's still cute and delish. Once you've mixed the dip together, use black olives and a baby carrot to make a face on this snowman-themed food.
- Traditional Snowmen Sugar Cookies. The simplicity of these snowman cookies makes them a classic. Use snowman cookie cutters to create an army of them and frost with royal icing.
- Chocolaty Melting Snowmen. Thanks to marshmallows and vanilla candy coating, these snowmen are melting all over rich chocolate cookies. To make the puddle of melted snow look more like a former snowman, use peanut butter cups to make a hat and a couple sprinkles for a snowman face.
- Marshmallow Snowmen. You won't need a winter jacket to build a line of these snowmen. Instead, stack marshmallows into snowmen and use melted chocolate, pretzel sticks, and orange candies to create faces, arms, and buttons.
- Christmas Cake Pops. This snowman cake pop recipe may be accompanied by Rudolph and Santa, but it isn't just for the holiday season. Use your favorite cake and frosting, then dip each ball in melted white baking chocolate.
- Stacked Square Snowmen Cookies. One of the best things about making snowmen out of sugar cookies instead of snow? You can get even more creative and make them any shape you want.
- Melting Snowman Cocktail. Make sure you keep this cocktail recipe on hand for your next winter party! Vodka, Kahlua, and half-and-half make this cocktail a tasty winter treat.
- Kaleidoscope Snowmen Sugar Cookies. If there's nothing you love more than a day of decorating, these snowmen sugar cookies will keep you happy for hours.
- Meringue Snowmen. You don't need actual snow to make stacked snowmen. Once you whip together a quick meringue, you can pipe balls on top of each other to create realistic snowmen.
