FUDGE-FILLED BARS

- In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Stir in pecans. Set aside 1-1/2 cups for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan., In a large saucepan, combine the milk, chocolate chips and shortening. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted; stir until smooth. , Spread over crust; sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture. Top with M&M's. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

Not all of Grandma's recipes are time-consuming--her fast fudge proves it! She stirred up a batch for us grandkids every time we visited. Now, I'm carrying on the tasty tradition for my family whenever we want a quick chocolate treat with a peanut butter twist.

- In a small saucepan, melt the butter; remove from the heat. Add cocoa and mix well. Stir in sugar. Add milk and stir until smooth. Add peanut butter and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper; flatten tops and shape into 1-in. patties. Refrigerate until serving.

EASY PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE BARS
These are so easy its ridiculous. They are so good. I came up with this recipe as an experiment. It came out great and everyone loved it!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a bowl mix the brownie mix as directed. Add the peanut bitter chips in the batter. In another bowl mix the cookie mix as directed (omitting the egg). Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter.
- Spray an 13x9 baking pan with non-stick spray. Spread the brownie batter into the pan. Take the peanut butter batter and drop spoonfuls over the brownie batter. Take a butter knife and swirl the two batter together causing a marble affect.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick is inserted and comes out almost clean. Be careful not to over bake. It is better if it is just a tad bit under done. Let cool and cut into bars.
PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE BARS ALA TASTE OF HOME
I found this recipe a long time ago in the Taste of Home magazine. The recipe was very easy and the results were perfect for an up-scaled brownie. My friends at work loved them and so did I. :)

- 1. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, peanut butter, oil, and egg until well blended.
- 2. Press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
- 3. In a heavy saucepan, heat the milk, chocolate chips and butter over low heat; stir until smooth. Pour over crust. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
- 4. Bake for 20-25 minutes longer or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Yield: 2-1/2 dozen.
- 5. Editor's Note: Reduced-fat peanut butter is not recommended for this recipe.

- Preheat oven to 350°F Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment, overlaping the two longer sides for easy removal.
- Beat butter, peanut butter and icing sugar until smooth with an electric mixer. Stir in flour, oats and peanuts until crumbly,.
- Reserving 1 cup of oat mixture, press remainder onto bottom of prepared pan. Top with apples,.
- Melt chips with sweetened condensed milk in a heavy saucepan on low heat, stirring occasionally. Pour mixtre evenly over apples. Crumble remaining oat mixture over top.
- Bake in preheated oven 35-40 minutes or until golden. Cool. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
