Paulines Dream Cake Food

ORANGE DREAM CAKE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350F (or 175C) Grease and flour a bundt cake pan and set aside.
• Dump cake mix, jello powder and Dream Whip powder in a large mixing bowl.
• Stir together until well mixed.
• Add oil, milk and eggs and mix for 3 minutes with an electric mixer.
• Pour into prepared bundt cake pan.
• Bake for 30-35 minutes.
• Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake.
• When the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is done.
• Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
• Place a dinner or cake plate, bottom side up, on top of the cake pan.
• Turn over and lightly shake the pan to help loosen the cake from it.
• You might be able to feel the cake loosen from the pan.
• While cake is still warm (but not hot) spread a light layer of the frosting on the side and top of the cake.
• This will result in a nice glaze effect on the cake.
• Or you can allow the cake to completely cool and frost it like you would normally frost a cake.

AUNT PAULINE'S LEMON SPONGE CAKE

Steps:

• Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
• Gradually add sugar then extracts.
• Fold in flour sifted with salt a little at a time.
• Beat egg white until foamy, add cream of tartar and beat until they form moist glossy peaks.
• Gold into egg yolk mixture.
• Bake in ungreased tube pan in 325 degree oven, one hour.

GRANDMA PAULINE'S ANNIVERSARY FIESTA CAKE

Steps:

• Sift together flour and 3/4 c.
• sugar.
• Make a well in center.
• Add egg yolks, cold water, lemon juice and vanilla.
• Beat until smooth.
• Set aside.
• With electric mixer whip egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt until foamy.
• Continue beating, adding remaining 3/4 c.
• of sugar a few T.
• at a time, until sugar is incorporated and meringue holds stiff peaks.
• FOLD batter into meringue until JUST blended.
• Pour into ungreased tube pan and cut through batter to break air bubbles.
• Bake at 350* for 50-55 minutes or until top springs back when touched.
• Invert on a wine bottle and hang until cool.
• Remove from pan and serve with whipped cream and strawberries.

PAULINE'S DREAM CAKE

Steps:

• 1. Mix up cake mix and bake in oblong pan for 15 minutes. Cool.
• 2. Mix together cream cheese, pudding and milk. Spread on 1st layer.
• 3. Spread drained crushed pineapple over 2nd layer.
• 4. Spread Cool Whip over 3rd layer.
• 5. Sprinkle as much nuts and cherries you'd like all over 4th layer.
