I've had to put this as Australian which as a Kiwi is hard!!!! They are NOT Australian....they are Kiwi/ Pacifica!! They don't necessarily look much...and the process to get them to the end result may not produce the nicest looking but honestly they are delicious!!

Ingredients

6 - pauas (without shells) cut into manageable cubes and minced
1 - onion,chopped
1 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1 teaspoon(s) salt pork
1 - egg
A little - oil to fry

Steps:

Prepare 1 chopped onion and 6 pāuas -without shells. You prepare the Paua by cutting them into manageable cubes and mincing them (preferably through an old fashioned mincer). The result isn't that appealing looking to be fair......as a friend said...you gotta mince it up until it looks like...well...it looks like pus (way to go how to sell something as appealing to eat!!!)..but actually he is right..you do have to mince it up till it looks like pus (sorry)
In a mixing bowl put: 1 cup of flour 1 teaspoon of baking powder teaspoon of salt 1 egg
Mix in the minced Pāua and onion, as well as some finely chopped parsley, then add a cup of milk or more to make a fritter mix (not to stiff).
Fry in oil at a low temperature until golden brown and serve. On there own or as part of a meal with fries or a salad....bit of Lemon juice squeezed on them...DELISH!!
