1 lb Lump crab meat
1/2 cup Onion ((chopped finely))
3 tbsp Wholesome Yum Blanched Almond Flour ((or crushed pork rinds for nut-free))
1/4 cup Egg white
2 tbsp Mayonnaise
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Mustard
1 tbsp Dried parsley
1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
2 tbsp Olive oil ((divided))

Steps:

  • Fold in crab meat very gently. Try to avoid breaking up the lumps of crab meat.

Paleo crab cakes are perfect for appetizers or part of a light, healthy meal! Ready in just 10 minutes, this recipe is so simple to make, inexpensive, and full of flavor. These crab cakes are gluten free, grain free, low carb and Whole30 friendly!

2 cans crab drained and water squeezed out
1/3 cup almond flour
2 egg whites
1/2 lemon juiced
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
coconut oil spray (or avocado oil)

Steps:

  • Open the canned crab and squeeze out all the liquid. You don't want the water to be in the recipe.
  • Add the crab to a medium bowl. Add the egg white, almond meal, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt and fresh parsley and stir well to combine.
  • Divide the mixture between 6 patties.
  • Spray nonstick pan with coconut oil or avocado oil and heat over medium heat.
  • Add the crab cakes to the hot skillet and cook 3 minutes each side, flipping carefully.
  • Let sit for 1 minutes off the heat with a lid to ensure all the egg has cooked through.
  • Serve hot or cold

1 large egg
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
¼ teaspoon lemon juice
1 ½ teaspoons seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay™
ground black pepper to taste
1 pound fresh lump crabmeat
¼ cup almond flour
1 tablespoon finely diced red pepper
2 teaspoons sliced green onion
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
⅓ cup almond flour

Steps:

  • Grease a baking sheet.
  • Whisk together egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, seafood seasoning, and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Place crab meat in a separate bowl and pour egg and mayonnaise mixture in; gently combine with hands. Mix in 1/4 cup almond flour, peppers, green onions, and parsley.
  • Form mixture into 6 patties. Place 1/3 cup almond flour in a shallow bowl. Dredge each cake in almond flour and set on prepared sheet pan; refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Bake crab cakes in the oven until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.

Gently add the egg mixture to the crab, folding until combined. Then add the dry ingredients to the crab mixture and gently mix in. Try not to break up/shred the pieces of crab too much.
  • Heat the coconut oil over medium heat in a nonstick saute pan. Form 8 small cakes and place carefully in the hot oil. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove from the pan to a plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with kosher salt, squeeze half a fresh lemon over them and serve with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce.
