2 cans (29 ounces each) sliced peaches, drained
2 cans (29 ounces each) pear halves, drained and sliced
1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained
1 can (15-1/4 ounces) apricot halves, drained and sliced
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • In a 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the peaches, pears, pineapple and apricots. Top with pie filling. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or until heated through. Serve with a slotted spoon.

1 lemon, juiced

  • Combine the peaches, cider, cranberries, sugar, apples, cinnamon stick and lemon juice in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Remove the cinnamon stick and serve warm.

1 (15-ounce) can dark red cherries
1 (15-ounce) can sliced pears
1 (15-ounce) can apricot halves
4 tablespoons packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Drain all canned fruit thoroughly.
  • Transfer drained fruits to slow cooker. Add brown sugar, orange juice concentrate, and cinnamon. Stir gently to blend.
  • Cover slow cooker and cook spiced fruit on LOW for about 3 to 5 hours.
  • Serve fruit compote hot from the slow cooker. Variation

With just four ingredients - okay, five if you spike it with your favorite rum - this Crock Pot hot spiced apple cider couldn't be any easier to make. It's the perfect excuse to get out there and rake the leaves.

2 quarts apple cider (64 ounces or 8 cups)
6 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
1 medium organic naval orange*
2 tablespoons whole cloves
Rum of your choice (optional)
Additional cinnamon sticks for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Pour apple cider into a 2.5-quart or larger Crock Pot or other slow cooker. Add cinnamon sticks.
  • With a toothpick, poke holes all around the orange, about 1/2 inch to 1 inch apart. Carefully poke the cloves into the toothpick holes in the orange.
  • Place orange into the cider in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on low until hot and spiced through, about 4 hours. Ladle into mugs along with an ounce or so of rum if using. Place a cinnamon stick in each glass if desired and serve.

6 cups apples, peeled and cored cooking cut into 1/2 in slices (about 2 lbs.)
7 ounces mixed dried fruit
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons shredded orange peel
1 tablespoon quick-cooking tapioca
3 tablespoons rum (optional for adult version) (optional)
1/4 cup apples or 1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup whipping cream
3/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted

Steps:

  • put all ingredients into crock pot EXCEPT whipping cream and almonds.
  • cover and cook on low 7-8 hours, high 3 1/2-4 hours.
  • spoon compote into bowls.
  • top with whipped cream and almonds if desired.
