GREAT-GRANDMA'S OATMEAL COOKIES
Not only is this recipe a favorite of my husband's, it's extra special to me because it goes back to my great-grandmother. For holidays, we like to sprinkle on colored sugar for a festive touch. -Mary Ann Konechne, Kimball, South Dakota

- Preheat oven to 350°. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in water. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; add to creamed mixture, and mix well. Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts. , On a surface sprinkled with additional sugar, roll dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. cookie cutter in desired shapes. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Bake until set, 12-15 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- 2. Combine flour, oats, cinnamon, salt, protein powder and baking soda in medium bowl, blend, and set aside.
- 3. In a large bowl, cream the sugars and the butter together. Add the eggs, lemon juice and vanilla.
- 4. Stir in the dry ingredients with the wet until well blended. Add the raisins, cranberries, chocolate chips and walnuts.
- 5. Form balls approximately 1 inch in diameter and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack, and serve when ready.
SURPRISE OATMEAL COOKIES
This recipe is yummy with a special surprise of chocolate covered raisinets, instead of your regular raisins.

- 2. Add your flour,baking soda,cinnamon,nutmeg and your salt.Mix well
- 3. Add in your 3 cups of oatmeal,mix well
- 4. Add in your 2 boxes of chocolate raisinets and mix well
- 5. Drop by Tablespoons on an ungreased cookie sheet at about 2inches apart at 375 degr.for 10-12 mins
- 6. Cool on a wire rack
