- You’re most likely not getting the meat from one cow: That’s right. That hunk of meat is probably not from one cow. It might even be more than one cow from around the world.
- You might be at risk for E. coli: Beef is often recalled due to E. coli risks. E.coli is a dangerous bacteria and a serious health risk.
- You’re exposed to ammonia: That pinky slime you see on the burger is ammonia, which fast food chains inject into the burger. E. coli and Salmonella are often found in the ammonia filler.
- The bun isn’t doing you any favors: Bread means carbs, and carbs make you gain weight!
- Added toppings could mean added health risks: If you opt for bacon or mayo on top of your burger, you’re increasing your calorie and carb intake. Not to mention the trans fats and basically everything bad in the burger all over again.
- The serving size is way too big: According to Everyday Health, the serving size for meat is 4 ounces. A typical fast food burger is between 8 and 12 ounces!
- The grease and the trans fats can cause heart disease: Many studies have proved that increasing your intake of trans fats can lead to heart disease.
