Nantucket Tea Food
NANTUCKET ICED TEA
Cranberry juice and lime flavor refreshing Nantucket iced tea. Use more or less of the syrup for your preferred sweetness. Allow an hour for the tea to steep - using room temperature water keeps the tea smooth and not bitter.

Steps:
- In a (glass) serving pitcher, steep the tea in the water for 45 to 60 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and discard them.
- Stir in the cranberry juice and as much lime syrup as desired.
- Serve over ice in tall glasses.
- Garnish with a a lime slice, if desired.
- Lime Syrup: Combine 2 1/2 cups sugar with 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Add a few strips of lime zest. Bring to a boil them simmer 5 to 8 minutes till slightly thickened. Remove from heat and cool. Remove and discard lime zest. Stir in 6 or 7 Tbs. of fresh, strained lime juice (and 2 or 3 drops of green food coloring, if desired).

I don't usually like fruit tea. But this one is an exception. It is really great on a hot summer day.

- Steep teabags in water for 45 minutes. Remove and discard bags.
- Stir in juice and simple syrup to taste. Serve over ice.
- TO MAKE SIMPLE SYRUP-equal part sugar to water. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Add lime zest-zest of one lime to 1/4 cup of syrup.

- Chocolate chip cookies from Something Natural. While most people on the island know Something Natural for their sandwiches and fresh loaves of bread, this shop also whips up some of the best chocolate chip cookies on the island.
- Cheese plate from Table No 1. Whether you're gathering items for a sunset picnic on the beach, inviting friends over for hors d'oeuvres, or having a cheese party with girlfriends, Table No 1 is the ultimate cheese (and wine) shop on the island.
- Glass of champagne from Galley Beach. Galley Beach is a special spot on Nantucket due to its location on the water and unimpeded views of the sun as it sets over the horizon.
