Steps:
- Chop all fruit into bite sized pieces. You CAN cut the grapes and cherries, but I usually do not.
- Throw all the fruit into a very large bowl and add cool whip, yogurt, marshmallows.
- Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and honey.
- I usually freeze this, but tastes good in the refrigerator, too! Although, fruit doesn't keep as long in refrigerator, and the freezy treat is tastier to me :D.
FAVORITE FRUIT SALAD

PERFECT SUMMER FRUIT SALAD
The perfect fruit salad for a backyard bbq or any occasion. There are never leftovers! This is one of my favorite fruit salad recipes, as I think the sauce really makes it. This salad is tastier the longer you can let it soak in its juices. I prefer 3 to 4 hours in the refrigerator before I serve it. Enjoy.

MY FIVE FAVORITE SUMMER SALAD DRESSINGS!
I use the lemon, tangerine and citrus vinaigrettes on almost any salad! They are very versatile. I save the raspberry vinaigrette for greens with berries, apples, nuts, soft cheeses etc..., the traditional balsamic is great on just about anything too, I tend to serve it with salads heavy with veggies like tomatoes, cukes, and avocado or on my traditional house salad (recipe at bottom of page).

Steps:
- Place all in ingredients in a bowl and whisk. Store in mason jars and refrigerate for up to a week.
- Alternative method for Citrus Vinaigrette: If you would like a thick creamy version of this dressing (really nice!) put all ingredients in blender except olive oil. Blend, then drizzle olive oil in steadily. Dressing will emulsify and become thick and creamy.

MY FAVORITE FRUIT SALAD
I have been making this recipe for over 40 years, and it is always a hit. Use 1/2 red and 1/2 Green maraschino cherries for a more colorful salad. At Easter time, I like to use the multi colored miniature marshmallows, too.

Steps:
- 1. in a large serving bowl, mix together all the fruits.
- 2. blend yogurt and orange juice together and pour over the fruit, mix well
- 3. can add coconut and marshmallows if you choose... it's good with and without it.
- 4. * can add other fruits as well... Kiwi is a favorite of mine, as are mandarine oranges, pomagranate seeds, and dried cranberries. Best to use whatever is in season.. this is just the way I usually make it. * this salad is just as tasty without the dressing, and if you choose you can substitute sour cream for the yogurt - if you do though I'd omit the orangejuice.

- Pour the drained fruit juice (from the canned fruit) into a liquid measuring cup. You need about 3/4 cup fruit juice. If you have more than that, pour a little off. If you don't have quite that much, add another type of fruit juice (white grape juice, orange juice, etc.) or supplement with water as long as it isn't more than a couple tablespoons that you need.
- In a small saucepan, whisk together the fruit juice, cornstarch, and honey (or other sweetener of choice). Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, whisking constantly. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl to cool (you can let it cool in the pan but it will take longer). Stir every so often so it doesn't form a skin over the top while cooling. Once cooled to room temperature, stir in the yogurt until smooth. Refrigerate until cool. It will thicken a bit more while cooling.
- In a large bowl, toss together the fresh and canned fruit. Pour the dressing over the top and stir to combine. Serve immediately.

- Cook approximately 15 minutes over medium heat stirring occasionally until slightly thickened. Cool. Pour over fruit.
- Stir, Cover, and refrigerate. Will keep in frig for a week. Make at least 24 hours ahead so that flavors can marry. Optional: Coconut and pecans. Bananas can be added but they turn dark quick and the fruit salad will not last as long in refrigerator.

- Have each family member begin chopping their delegated fruit into 1/4-inch sized bits (banana, apple, grapes, cherries, strawberries–not the lemon or canned fruits). The goal is to make the bits small enough so you get a little bit of every fruit onto the spoon as it makes its way into your mouth.
- Pour everything into a very large, preferably plastic bowl and squeeze a little lemon over it periodically as the chopping continues. Please stir following the sprinkle of lemon so it’s evenly dispersed, especially over the bananas.
- While all those folks are a-chopping, pour the mandarin oranges and pineapple into a small colander to drain. Once drained, break-up the oranges into mashed/mushed bits and make sure the pineapple is thoroughly crushed. Again, the goal is tiny bits so we can get a bite of everything in one spoon.
