If you're looking for a classic, kitchen-tested, Doughboy-approved monkey bread recipe, this is it. Toss Pillsbury™ biscuits with cinnamon-sugar, pour in a brown sugar-butter mixture and bake in a bundt pan until golden brown. The result is a warm, gooey, buttery, comforting and delicious pull-apart-just the thing you'd want to eat for breakfast or dessert (or both!).

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cans (16.3 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Layers Original Biscuits (8 Count)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, if desired
1/2 cup raisins, if desired
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Generously grease 12-cup fluted tube pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large 1-gallon plastic food storage bag, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Separate dough into 16 biscuits; cut each into quarters. Shake in bag to coat. Arrange in pan, adding walnuts and raisins among the biscuit pieces. Sprinkle any remaining sugar over biscuits.
  • In small bowl, mix brown sugar and butter; pour over biscuit pieces.
  • Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Loosen edges of pan with metal spatula. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Turn upside down onto serving plate; replacing any biscuit pieces and caramel from pan. Pull apart to serve. Serve warm.

In small bowl, mix brown sugar and butter; pour over biscuit pieces. Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Turn upside down onto serving plate; pull apart to serve. Serve warm.

1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine

Steps:

  • Cut each biscuit in fourths with scissors.
  • Shake biscuits in bag with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Layer biscuits into greased tube pan.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Melt margarine and brown sugar and boil 1 minute.
  • Pour over biscuits.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before removing from pan.
  • To serve, just pinch off pieces and eat with fingers.

Steps:

  • GREASE or spray 12-cup Bundt cake pan.

16 large jumbo biscuits, 2 tubes with 8 biscuits per tube
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup whole pecans
1/4 cup melted butter

Steps:

  • Spray a small 6 cup bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. (I don't like cooking spray so I used the butter wrappers to grease the pan).
  • In a small bowl. mix sugar and cinnamon together and set aside.
  • Cut each biscuit in one tube into quarters. Place each biscuit quarter in the cinnamon and sugar mixture and toss to coat. Place into prepared pan. Add half of the pecans into the pan. Repeat with the remaining tube of biscuits and fill the pan. Drizzle butter over the biscuits.
  • Place 1 1/2 cups of water into the instant pot. Place the trivet into the pot. Take a long piece of foil and fold it in half. Place the foil under the bundt pan and use it to pick up the pan and place inside the instant pot. Tuck in the ends of the foil so it does not extend beyond the top of the instant pot pan. I skipped this step and used an instant pot insert instead that has handles and allows you to pull things out of the water.
  • Place the lid on the instant pot and close the pressure release valve. Set the instant pot to manual, high pressure for 20 minutes. When cooking cycle is complete, quick release the steam and carefully remove the lid and pan. Let the pan set for 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate and removing the pan. Let cool just until warm and serve.
