4 tablespoons butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 large apples, peeled, cored, cut into crescent slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cream toghether butter and sugar. Add egg and beat.
  • Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Beat dry ingredients into butter mixture.
  • Stir apples into batter, which will be thick and hard to stir.
  • Turn into a buttered 9" pie pan and spread smooth.
  • Bake for 1 hour, until just brown.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
FILLING:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup plus 1/3 cup sugar, divided
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
5-1/2 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples (about 6 medium)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°. In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in flour and vanilla until blended. Press onto the bottom of a greased 9-in. springform pan., In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Pour over crust. In another large bowl, toss apples with cinnamon and remaining sugar. Spoon over cream cheese layer., Bake 10 minutes. Reduce oven setting to 400°; bake 25 minutes. Sprinkle almonds over top; bake 10-15 minutes longer or until lightly browned and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Remove sides of pan before slicing. Store in the refrigerator.

16 ounces butter, softened
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
16 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
4 apples, cored, peeled and slices (tart apples work best)
2/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Crust: cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and mix well.
  • add flour and blend with your hand till crumbly.
  • press into the bottom and 3/4 up the sides of 2 9 inch springform pans.
  • Filling: beat cream cheese and sugar, add vanilla.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg.
  • pour half into each crust.
  • Topping: Mix apples cinnamon and lemon juice.
  • Lay apples on top on cheese mixture in a curcular pattern, and inside and outside row.
  • Top with almonds.
  • Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Cool on wire rack for 1 hour.
  • Remove from pan and refrigerate over night.

1/3 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar, divided
3 eggs, divided
1-1/4 cups flour
2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1-1/4 cups chopped peeled apples
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup grape jelly, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Beat butter and 1/4 cup of the sugar in small bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add 1 of the eggs; beat until well blended. Add 1-1/4 cups flour; mix well. Spread onto bottom and 1-1/2 inches up side of 9-inch springform pan. Bake 5 to 7 min. or until lightly browned; set aside.
  • Beat remaining 1/2 cup sugar, the cream cheese, flour and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add remaining 2 eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Spoon into crust. Top evenly with apples and almonds.
  • Bake 10 min. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; continue baking an additional 30 min. Drizzle evenly with jelly. Run small knife or metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim of pan. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Store leftover torte in refrigerator.

2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar or 1/8 Splenda granular, works great
1 cup butter, plus
1 tablespoon butter (softened)
1 egg yolk
4 cups sliced apples
1/4 cup water or 1/4 cup apple cider
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup sugar or 1/2 Splenda granular
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • FOR CRUST; Blend flour and sugar, cut in butter into small pieces and work into flour mixture by hand or fork, (DON'T Over Mix); then add egg yolk, stir gently until well incorporated into the flour-butter mixture.
  • Gently form two balls of dough; ONE LARGER, for the bottom crust; the other ball is for the top; WRAP dough in wax paper and set in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Line pizza pan with parchment paper; crumble large ball of dough on to the parchment paper and press to fit lined pan.
  • Then roll small dough ball in between waxed paper, press or roll dough to 1/8 inch thick, cut into strips to layer over apple filling (cut any sze it doesn't matter, have fun); NOTE use kitcken knife to lift strips onto the apple filling in a crisscross pattern, (if strips break, DO NOT WORRY, arrange into pattern of squares).
  • FOR FILLING: place apples in medium saucepan with water (or cider), and slowly warm slowly, then add flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter to apple mixture; cook over medium-high heat,stirring often until thick; set aside and cool.
  • Pour filling over bottom crust, spread evenly, then layer top with strips of dough; Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes, until browned.

½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup white sugar
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
¼ cup white sugar
2 eggs
¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced thinly
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix together the butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, and 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9-inch springform pan.
  • Beat together the cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in the eggs and 3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract. Pour the egg mixture over the crust.
  • Combine the sliced apples, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl. Spoon apple mixture evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Place the springform pan on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven until center is set, 50 to 65 minutes.

⅓ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F(230 degrees C).
  • Cream together butter, 1/3 cup sugar, vanilla, and flour. Press crust mixture into the flat bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Pour cheese mixture over crust.
  • Combine 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Toss the sliced apples with the sugar mixture and spread over the cheese filling.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and continue baking for 25 minutes. Sprinkle almonds over top of torte. Continue baking until almonds are lightly browned and apples are tender. Cool before removing from pan.
