MOM'S MEAT PIE (TOURTIèRE à MA MèRE)
Here's a meat pie (tourtière) my mother made in our family for many years. This wonderful recipe has been passed on to me and my sisters to enjoy and remember at christmas. This recipe is great for it's simplicity in the ingredients, good meat, good spices and your favorite pie crust. Hope you enjoy!

Steps:
- In a large pan, mix together meats, spices and water.
- Bring to a boil, cook at medium heat uncovered until mixture is cooked but still moist (approximately 20 minutes).
- Line pie pan with one crust and fill with meat mix.
- Top with second crust and pinch to seal.
- Cut slits in top of crust to vent, at this point you might want to get creative by adding any christmas decoration with leftover pie crust using a cookie cutter.
- Brush crust with beaten egg and place filled pie pan on cookie sheet to catch any drips.
- Bake at 350F for 30 minutes until crust is golden.

This is a recipe that my mom made up when we were kids, she would make it often and we all loved them!

Steps:
- Cut pie crust to make 4 pieces.
- For each pie crust put equal amounts ground beef, onion and potato, season with salt and pepper to your liking. All ingredients should be raw.
- Fold each individual pie to make a little pocket.
- Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until crust is light brown.
- When we were kids we would eat this with ketchup, my husband likes it with gravy.

Steps:
- 1. Slowly saute onion, pepper and meat in margarine. Stir continually until browned.
- 2. Add remaining ingredients and heat through.
- 3. Place in a 9 X 13 well greased pan.
- 4. Top with biscuits.
- 5. BISCUITS - Cut margarine and shortening into self rising flour. Pour in milk and mix till blended.
- 6. Turn dough onto well floured surface and pat dough to approximately 1/8 inch thick. Top casserole with biscuits.
- 7. Bake 15-20 minutes till biscuits are browned. Cook any remaining biscuits to serve with dish.

Revamped from another recipe for my meat and potatoes guy. No veggies here but feel free to add them if you like! I serve the veggies on the side (picky dh) With or without this a is very yummy and well seasoned savory pie! I use turkey but any ground meat can be used.

- Add potatoes and seasonings and mix well.
- Line pie pan with one crust and fill with meat mix.
- Top with second crust and pinch to seal.

- Bake at 375F for 30-35 minutes until crust is browned.
- Note: Updated after review.
- If you prefer a more moist pie add some milk or cream to your mashed potatoes before adding to the filling. You could also tear a piece of bread or two and soak them in milk or broth and then add them to the meat mixture.

MOM'S MEAT PIE FROM GRANDMA'S KITCHEN
Steps:
- Simmer the hamburger, onions, garlic, and shredded potatoes until the potatoes are tender, and the beef is browned. Drain in colander, remove, and add Worcestershire sauce.
- Pre-bake bottom pie shell until light brown at 350 degrees F. Fill shell with mixture, and cover with top pie crust. Bake until crust is done on top....brown at 325 degrees F.
- Top slice with brown gravy to individual taste to serve. May also serve Worcestershire sauce on the side, to taste. Serve with steamed vegetables and biscuits.

MAMA MAC'S HAMBURGER PIE
This is my mother-in-laws (Buddha's mom) recipe that well, lets just say 'I can't believe I ate almost the whole thing!' I devoured about a half of one the first time I tried it, it is so awesome! - Preheat oven to 350°F Mix all cheese mixture ingredients in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- MEAT MIXTURE: Saute beef, peppers and onions in a large skillet over med-high heat. Drain and return to skillet. To this add salt, pepper, oregano, bread crumbs, and tomato sauce. Mix well.
- Pour half beef mixture into each pie crust. Cover beef mixtures equally with the cheese mixture. Bake for 40-45 minutes till topping is golden brown.
