2 cups fresh or frozen wild blueberries
1 cup plain, 2-percent yogurt or plain kefir
1 cup assorted greens such as spinach, baby kale, or collards
1 banana
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
4 ice cubes
3/4 cup cold water

Steps:

  • Place the blueberries, yogurt or kefir, greens, banana, mint leaves, hemp seeds, and pumpkin seeds in a blender along with the ice cubes and cold water and process until smooth. Divide evenly between two glasses and serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Put the blueberries, banana, yogurt, apple juice and mint, if using, in a blender and blitz until smooth. Add a splash of water if it seems too thick.
  • Pour the smoothie into a tall glass with a glass straw to serve. Garnish with a sprig of mint, if you like.

1 cup milk or 1 cup soymilk
1/2 frozen banana
2/3 cup frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons whey or 2 tablespoons soy protein
2 tablespoons almonds or 1 tablespoon flax seed meal
1 teaspoon honey (or a sprinkle of Splenda or sugar)
1 scoop ice cream (if you're making it for dessert)

Steps:

  • Dump everything together in the blender. You may need to add a little more milk to make it blend - I just splash a little in as needed, using the minimal amount because I like my shakes thick.
  • Blend until smooth. Enjoy!
