BAKED FISH IN MAYONNAISE AND MUSTARD



Baked Fish in Mayonnaise and Mustard image

An old recipe I have in my fish collection that's simple, fast and tasty. I've also used this with Walleye and Bass fillets.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb haddock
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 dash cayenne
1/8 teaspoon dill weed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Place fish in lightly greased shallow baking dish.
  • Stir mayonnaise, mustard, onion, cayenne and dill weed in a small bowl until blended.
  • Spread mixture on the fish.
  • Bake at 400°F for approx 20 minutes or until fish flakes easy with a fork.

Really simple recipe that even pleases the non fish lovers among us! My favorite fish to use is tilapia, but any mild, white fish will work nicely.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 fish fillets, about 1 pound
1/3 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup onion, finely diced
1/4 cup parmesan cheese or 1/4 cup romano cheese, grated
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Place fish, in a lightly greased 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, butter, onion, cheese, lemon juice, Old Bay, and pepper. Mix until a thick paste is formed.
  • Spread mixture evenly over fish filets, then top with bread crumbs.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes, or until fish is flaky.
  • To finish cooking, place fish under the broiler, for another 2-3 minutes, or until fish is golden brown.

1 lb fish fillet, any type
salt and pepper
onion powder
1/4 cup mayonnaise
paprika

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • Line 8x10" dish with foil.
  • Place fish in pan, sprinkle with seasonings.
  • Use a pastry brush to sparingly coat tops and sides of fillets with mayonnaise.
  • top with generous sprinkling of paprika.
  • Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, until fish flakes when touched with fork.
  • Serves 4.
  • Note: No need to turn while baking.
  • any amount may be prepared by adjusting size of pan.

¾ pound fish fillets (I suggest halibut or Chilean sea bass)
1 tablespoon olive oil (or melted butter)
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
pinch salt and freshly ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon dried dill
¼ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese (grated )
2 tablespoons panko (Japanese bread crumbs)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Lightly brush the fish with the olive oil or melted butter.
  • Mix together the rest of the ingredients, except the panko, to make a paste. Spread half on each fillet. Press half of the panko on evenly on top of each fillet.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes, just until fish is opaque.
  • Turn on the broiler and finish for 2 minutes, until panko is golden brown and mayonnaise has puffed a little.
