I put this together quickly when DH was having one of his chocci attacks. I am not much of a chocolate eater but I have to say I had to have some of this and it actually tops any chocolate sauce I have ever had and so fast!! It was a hit with my chocolate loving DH and hopefully it will be with you too.

2 (2 1/4 ounce) Snickers candy bars
2 (2 1/4 ounce) Mars bars
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup cream (more or less to desired consistency)

Steps:

  • Slice the chocolate bars into chunks.
  • Melt chocolate chunks with butter in a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water; stir occasionally until all is melted.
  • Remove from heat; pour in cream to desired consistency and mix well.

I remember learning how to make this in the 4th Grade back in Australia. It is still delicious and an absolute hit when I make it now, many moons later! In the U.S., I sub Milky Way Bars for Mars Bars. (Please note: cooking time does not include refrigeration time)

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 ounces Mars bars (chopped) or 8 ounces Milky Way bars (chopped)
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 cups rice bubbles or 3 cups Rice Krispies
8 ounces milk chocolate chips
1/8 cup unsalted butter (extra)

Steps:

  • Grease a 9 x 9 pan with butter.
  • On low heat in a medium saucepan, combine Mars Bars (or Milky Ways) and 1/2 cup Butter.
  • Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and melted.
  • Remove from heat and fold in Rice Bubbles / Rice Krispies
  • Press into the 9 x 9 pan.
  • In a small saucepan, melt together the Chocolate Morsels and 1/8 cup Butter
  • Once melted, spread over the top of the Rice Bubbles / Rice Krispies mixture in pan.
  • Refrigerate until chocolate is set.
  • Slice, serve and enjoy!

If you have a sweet tooth, then I guarantee you will become addicted to this. The idea came from a restaurant that has since closed down called "The Fondue Pot" in Reading. People used to come for miles around to eat this and it's so simple. After advice, I feel I should state that you should only use British Mars Bars as apparently American ones are completely different.

8 Mars bars
284 ml single cream
banana
dried apricot
marshmallows

Steps:

  • Chop up the Mars bars and over a very low heat melt while stirring occasionally.
  • When fully melted, add the single cream in small amounts, keeping the heat very low until there are no lumps and the mixture can coat the back of a spoon.
  • Pour into a fondue pot or any bowl and serve eating with banana slices, dried apricots and marshmallows. Watch how fast this disappears!
