Maraschino Cherry Shake Food

MARASCHINO CHERRY SHAKE

Steps:

• Blend cherries, cherry juice and ice cream in a blender or food processor until smooth.
• Pour into 4 (12 oz.) glasses. Top with whipped topping if desired and garnish with whole maraschino cherries.

BIG DADDYS CHERRY MILKSHAKE

Steps:

• Add the ice cream, cherries with juice, cream soda and milk to a blender and pulse until well mixed, but slightly chunky. Pour into float glasses. Garnish with whipped cream and maraschino cherries. Serve with a straw and enjoy.

REAL MARASCHINO CHERRIES

Steps:

• Bring the liqueur to a simmer, and then turn off the heat. Add the cherries, stir, let cool, and then pour into jars. Refrigerate. Cherries will be tasty for months.

HOMEMADE MARASCHINO CHERRIES

Steps:

• Place 1 lb. frozen pitted sweet cherries in a large heatproof bowl. Bring 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar, ¼ cup fresh lemon juice, 2 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 tsp. almond extract, and 1 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan, whisking occasionally to help dissolve sugar, about 4 minutes. Immediately pour syrup over cherries and let cool (keep uncovered).
• Place a small plate on top of cherries to keep them submerged, then cover tightly with plastic wrap and chill at least 12 hours before serving. Do Ahead: Cherries can be made 4 weeks ahead. Remove plate and keep covered (or transfer to an airtight container) and chilled.
