This recipe came from my sister. Prep time includes letting the dough rise twice. Although time consuming, the end product is so worth it. Sit back and enjoy the compliments!

FRENCH TWISTS
This is a kid pleaser that is a simple twist on my kids' favorite breakfast dish -- French Toast, and serving the maple syrup as a dipping sauce. There are lots of versions of this simple idea, but this is how we make it in our home. It's so easy that most kids can even help prepare it.

Steps:
- Preperatory steps - Preheat the oven to 350º. Also, lightly butter or grease a baking baking sheet (for convenience, I usually just use a no-stick spray). And last, pour about 1 to 1 1/2 ounces of maple syrup into 4 separate condiment cups; set aside.
- Stir together the cinnamon and sugar, and place the cinnamon/sugar mixture in an even layer in a shallow dish.
- Remove dough from package, and separate dough into 12 individual breadsticks. Roll each breadstick in the cinnamon/sugar mixture until both sides are evenly coated. Twist each coated breadstick 2 or 3 times, to make a spiral.
- Place twisted breadsticks on the lightly coated baking sheet. Bake in a 350º oven for 12-15 minutes or until breadsticks are puffy and lightly golden brown.
- Let cool for a minute on the baking sheet.
- The recipe is intended for 3 French Twists and 1 1/2 ounce serving of maple syrup (for dipping the French Twists) per serving. But feel free to adjust serving sizes to suit your needs.

MAPLE-NUT COFFEE TWIST
This recipe is from Pillsbury Family Kitchens Cookbook. This is really delicous and makes a nice presentation. The dough is really easy to work with. I did need to add a couple more Tbsps of flour to the dough. This calls for a 12-inch pizza pan, but I'm sure a large cookie sheet would work just fine. :)

- On a parchment-lined work surface, roll the pastry into an 10-by-14-inch rectangle. Brush the pastry with 1 tablespoon maple syrup and sprinkle with ⅛ cup of maple sugar, lightly pressing the sugar into the dough. Gently flip the dough over and brush the surface with the remaining maple syrup and ⅛ cup maple sugar, again lightly pressing it into the dough.
- Using a pizza cutter or pastry wheel, slice the dough into long 1-inch strips, then slice each strip in half. (They should measure about 1-by-7-inches.) Working quickly but one at a time, pick up the strips from both ends and twist them into gentle spirals.
- Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheets, pressing the ends against the parchment and leaving at least 1½-inches of space between them. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until deep golden brown. Sprinkle with remaining maple sugar and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
