Its a nice cup of coffee with friends in the afternoon or at work I take it in a thermos for an afternoon treat.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 c hershey's special dark cocoa
1/2 c powdered instant coffee
1 c sugar
1 c hot water
6 c milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 tsp almond extract
whipped topping (optional)
additional hershey's cocoa

Steps:

  • 1. 1. Whisk together first 4 ingredients in large saucepan until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly. Boil 2 minutes, whisking constantly.
  • 2. 2. Add milk; cook to serving temperature. Do Not Boil. Stir in extracts. Serve in cups or mugs. Garnish with whipped topping; sift cocoa over top. 8 cups

Toasted Almond Mochas image

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 ounces sliced almonds
4 cups milk
4 tablespoons honey
4 shots espresso or 1 cup very strong coffee
4 tablespoons good quality cocoa powder

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spread the almonds on a sheet tray in 1 even later and toast in the oven until fragrant and light golden, about 7 minutes.
  • Put the toasted almonds and milk in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until steaming and hot, but not boiling, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the honey and stir until incorporated, then strain through a fine mesh strainer.
  • In a warm mug or heatproof glass, mix an espresso shot or 1/4 cup coffee with 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and then top with the toasted almond-infused milk. Repeat with remaining espresso, cocoa and hot milk.

Hey, another great one from Hershey's! This is for their dark cocoa and coffee granules but I changed it to use Cuban coffee and changed the liquid quantities.

1/2 cup hershey's dark cocoa
1/2 cup cuban coffee or 1/2 cup instant coffee granules
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
6 cups milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
whipped topping (optional)
additional hershey's dark cocoa, for sprinkling (optional)

Steps:

  • Whisk together first 4 ingredients in large saucepan until smooth.
  • Bring to boil over medium heat, whisking constantly.
  • Boil 2 minutes, whisking constantly.
  • Add milk; cook to serving temperature.
  • DO NOT BOIL.
  • Stir in extracts.
  • Serve in cups or mugs.
  • Garnish with whipped cream or whipped topping; sift cocoa over top.
  • *If using with coffee granules add 1/2 cup of water more to recipe.

This is a super-special coffee that owes its lingering flavor to an unexpected source, says creator Fred Thompson. "Cardamom is a spice that creeps into taste memory without being immediately recognized," says Thompson, author of the cookbook, Hot Chocolate. I use almond milk for it's flavor and because I try not to use dairy.

3/4 cup ground dark roast coffee
1 tablespoon ground cardamom
6 cups water
2 cups almond milk (or soy milk, coconut milk, whole milk, or half and half)
1/3-1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chocolate syrup

Steps:

  • Mix the coffee and cardamom in a coffee filter and brew the coffee in your coffeemaker with the water.
  • Heat the almond milk(or whatever milk you're using), sugar and chocolate syrup in a saucepan on medium heat.
  • Pour the brewed coffee into the pan, stir, and then pour into four cups. Serve and enjoy!

But the good news is that you can still treat yourself to a rich, smooth mocha - this baby is not only great hot or iced, but tripled with 2 tbsp of almond butter added to it you can make a great popsicle, or churn it for ice cream!

4 (1 g) packets stevia plus (I like Pyure Organic)
2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 pinch sea salt
1 cup brewed coffee
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tablespoons boiling water
2 drops liquid stevia (use your favourite)

Steps:

  • If serving cold: Stir together the coffee, almond milk and liquid stevia. Chill thoroughly.
  • If serving hot: Combine the coffee and almond milk in a microwave safe pitcher and heat about 3-4 minutes, until hot, but drinkable.
  • For both:.
  • Mix the stevia, cocoa and salt in a large cup (or a jug if serving two).
  • Stir the boiling water into the dry mixture until completely combined, then slowly whisk in the almond milk mixture and liquid stevia.
  • Serve and enjoy!
