1 tbsp. sugar-free French vanilla powdered creamer
1 tsp. instant coffee granules
1 tsp. cocoa powder
1 packet no-calorie sweetener
Dash cinnamon
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or your milk of choice)
1 - 2 cups ice

Steps:

  • In a tall glass, combine creamer, coffee, cocoa, sweetener, and cinnamon. Add 3 oz. hot water, and stir to dissolve.
  • Add milk, 3 oz. cold water, and ice.

1 (1 ounce) single serving packet sugar-free hot cocoa mix
2 teaspoons fat free French vanilla liquid coffee creamer
1 cup strong hot black coffee

Steps:

  • Put cocoa mix and creamer powder in mug.
  • Add hot coffee, stir and enjoy.
  • Note: for an iced mocha pour over ice. For a frappe, cool the beverage in the refrigerator for a few minutes; crush the ice in a blender add the cooled beverage and blend.

I'm sort of addicted to iced mocha. For more than ten years, I've whipped up an excessively large iced mocha each morning. But the abundance of sugar and empty calories caught up with me a bit ago. So here's an attempt to duplicate my beverage of choice in a lower calorie, lower sugar version.

1/4 cup fresh-brewed espresso
1 tablespoon sugar-free chocolate syrup
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
2 tablespoons half-and-half, fat free
1 cup skim milk
1 cup ice cube

Steps:

  • Pour espresso into pint glass. Add sugar-free and regular chocolate syrup, stir until dissolved.
  • Mix in fat free half and half and milk.
  • Fill glass rest of the way with ice cubes, stir a few times, and enjoy!

Combine the richness of chocolate milk with a hit of espresso and a whipped cream topping to make a moreish iced mocha - it's like a dessert in a glass

150ml milk
25g milk or dark chocolate buttons
ice
35ml freshly made espresso
30ml double cream, whipped (optional)
pinch cocoa powder or cinnamon, or both (optional)

Steps:

  • Pour 50ml of the milk into a small pan and add the chocolate buttons. Mix well until melted, then leave to cool.
  • Half-fill a large, tall glass with ice, then pour in the cooled chocolate milk and the remaining 100ml milk and stir to combine.
  • Top up with more ice, then slowly pour in the espresso. Finish with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon - or both, if you like.
