- In a small bowl or large measuring cup, combine the sour cream, yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic, powder, onion powder, parsley, chives, salt, and cracked pepper. Mix well.
- Stir in the white balsamic vinegar; then buttermilk.
- Adjust the seasonings to taste, adding another tablespoon of balsamic vinegar if desired. The flavors will become bolder over time.

- Whisk together cornstarch, mustard, sugar, salt, and 1/4 cup buttermilk in a small heavy saucepan until smooth. Whisk in remaining 3/4 cup buttermilk and egg until smooth. Cook over moderate heat, whisking constantly, until mixture reaches a simmer, then simmer, whisking constantly, until thickened and custardlike, 4 to 6 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in lemon juice and oil. Transfer dressing to a bowl and chill, its surface covered with wax paper, about 1 hour.

I adapted a recipe from 'Canadian Living' . Fresh made dressing is always better than the commercial ones you buy in the grocery stores, wouldn't you agree? One ingredient may surprise you...well, maybe not if you make your own dressings. Note: Salt is optional. If you don't have fresh dill, use 1/2 tsp. dried dillweed. Depending on your taste, you will decide whether you will use a small, medium, or large garlic clove. You will have more than a cup of dressing to enjoy!
