140 g madeira cake
4 tablespoons unsweetened orange juice
2 (23 g) packets sugar-free orange jello (Jello)
4 satsuma oranges, peeled and sliced
2 bananas
425 g prepared low-fat custard
200 g low fat fromage frais
8 tablespoons low-fat creme fraiche
star fruit or fig, to decorate

Steps:

  • Layer cake slices on bottom of large bowl. Sprinkle over Orange Juice.
  • Make up jelly, cool but do not allow to set.
  • Layer Satsumas and Bananas over cake and then pour over the jelly and let it set.
  • Spoon custard over the jelly.
  • Mix the fromage frais and the creme fraice and spoon this over the top of the custard.
  • Decorate Trifle with the fruit. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

So good that no one can tell it is low sugar. You can also use vanilla or cheesecake pudding in place of the white chocolate. Also, if you like more coffee flavor you can up the amount without adding any sugar.

1 (8 ounce) conatainer sugar-free Cool Whip
1 (1 1/2 ounce) box sugar-free instant white chocolate pudding mix
1 (1 1/2 ounce) box sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix
4 cups skim milk
1 1/2 cups strong coffee
1 butter pound cake

Steps:

  • Mix the two puddings as directed.
  • Cube the cake into 1/2 - 1 inch squares.
  • Layer some of the cake in the bottom of a trifle dish. Drizzle the coffee onto the cake.
  • Layer some of both puddings.
  • Layer some of the cool whip.
  • Repeat. Top with some sifted unsweetened cocoa powder.

1 pound frozen strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 store-bought angel-food cake
16-ounce container fat-free or full-fat Greek yogurt

Steps:

  • Place the strawberries and sugar in a saucepan. Heat gently until the strawberries are soft and the sugar has dissolved. Allow the juices to reduce slightly, until they have the consistency of a thin syrup. Let cool.
  • Tear fist-sized pieces from the angel-food cake and use them to line the bottom of a large, clear bowl or trifle dish. Cover with a layer of Greek yogurt and a layer of strawberries in syrup, filling in any holes in the previous layer. Add another layer of cake and continue building until all the ingredients have been used, ending with a few spoonfuls of yogurt and strawberries as a garnish.

1 (1 ounce) package fat-free sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (14 ounce) can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) container fat-free cool whip
1 (12 ounce) container fat-free cool whip
1/2 cup water
1 Hershey chocolate candy bar

Steps:

  • Prepare brownie mix according to package directions (I substitute half unsweetened applesauce for any vegetable oil).
  • Allow brownies to cool and cut into 1-inch squares.
  • In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and condensed milk. Mix until smooth. Fold in 8-oz container of Cool Whip.
  • In a glass serving dish, layer 1/2 brownies, 1/2 pudding mix and 1/2 of the 12-oz container of Cool Whip. Repeat layering.
  • Garnish with chocolate bar shavings. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Can also be served in individual dessert or wine glasses.
