  • For each drink, pour 2/3 cup Lillet Blanc (or dry vermouth) into a wine glass with ice. Add 2 dashes orange bitters. Top with sparkling wine or seltzer and garnish with a slice of orange.

Lillet is an infused wine aperitif available in white, rose and red - each with slightly different flavor notes. While delicious on its own, this cocktail adds a warming spiced syrup and fresh blood orange juice to make it feel extra cozy for the holidays and pick up on the berry and spice flavors in Lillet Rouge.

3/4 cup sugar
8 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick, broken in half
6 strips blood orange zest
1/2 cup chilled Lillet Rouge
1 tablespoon blood orange juice
1/3 to 1/2 cup cold seltzer
Blood orange slice, for garnish

Steps:

  • Make the spiced syrup: Combine 1 1/2 cups water, the sugar, cloves, cinnamon stick and blood orange zest in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar; simmer until syrupy and reduced to 1 cup, about 15 minutes. Let cool, then strain.
  • Make the cocktail: Combine the Lillet, blood orange juice and 1 tablespoon of the spiced syrup in a large glass and stir. Add ice and top with seltzer. Garnish with a blood orange slice.

I enjoyed this drink in my Favorite French Restaurant Sophie's in Somerset NJ. I wanted more so I recreated in here. It's a French version of the Cuban Mojito. 2 ounces lillet blanc (well chilled)
4 ice cubes
3 -4 fresh mint leaves
2 lime wedges
1 thin slice fresh ginger (quarter size rough chopped)
1 teaspoon sugar
tonic water or sparkling water
mint leaf

Steps:

  • Muddle the mint, lime, ginger, and sugar in a shaker.
  • Add the Lillet and ice, give a very good shaker till your hands can`t hold the shakers from being so cold.
  • Pour into a ice filled glass and top up with club soda.
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint.

  • Toss peaches, Lillet, and basil in a large bowl. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
  • DO AHEAD: Peaches can be marinated 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.

1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
ice cubes if desired
1 cup white Lillet
chilled soda water
2 lemon slices for garnish if desired

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan combine the sugar and the lemon juice, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved, and simmer it for 5 minutes. Let the lemon syrup cool completely. In each of 2 glasses filled with the ice stir together 1/2 cup of the Lillet and 1 to 2 tablespoons of the lemon syrup, or to taste, top off the drinks with the soda water, and garnish them with the lemon slices.
