10 NETFLIX FOOD SHOWS TO FUEL YOUR HUNGER AND WANDERLUST

Estimated Reading Time 7 mins
- Somebody Feed Phil. TV writer and producer Phil Rosenthal showcases the best eats around the world in this travel and food documentary. If you’re looking for a show that’s light and heartwarming, you’ve got to watch this.
- Chef’s Table. As opposed to Somebody Feed Phil, Chef’s Table is for real food geeks. Who doesn’t love hearing about the plight of chefs, our ultimate idols in the food industry?
- Final Table. Cooking competitions always excite me, but if there’s an ultimate cooking contest, THIS IS IT. Here, professional chefs from different parts of the world battle with each other and are judged by … let’s just say, more accomplished professional chefs!
- Street Food. I love street food—I believe that it shows the true character of a city. I believe that the quality of a city’s street food is a reflection of the excellence of all its food.
- Million Pound Menu. Those interested in the restaurant industry will love this show, where in amazing food concepts in the UK are presented to investors and are given a chance to do a test run in the city.
- The Chef’s Line. This one is a recent discovery, one I accidentally watched in a wedding venue. LOL. Another unique cooking show concept, The Chef’s Line puts home cooks against professional chefs in Australia.
- Ugly Delicious. In Ugly Delicious, food is explored at the “dish” level. That is, chef David Chang (Momofuku) finds out how certain dishes are cooked and eaten around the world—for example: chicken, tacos, pizza.
- Restaurants on the Edge. New on Netflix, Restaurants on the Edge features establishments around the globe which are, well, on the edge—of bankruptcy or closing, that is.
- Taco Chronicles. Taco Chronicles explores the history of different taco styles around Mexico and America. The narration can be quite boring at times, but just seeing the mouthwatering meats being chopped then placed on tortillas always brings back my energy.
- Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories. Do I need an explanation here? Japan. Of course! Read all about my Japan adventures: Osaka | Kyoto | Wakayama | Fukuoka.

- Chili. Chili is amazing. Hands down. My friends and I always end up making chili for our get-togethers when it’s cold out. Cheese, meat, beans? It’s like eating a super warm burrito without having to chew.
- Chocolate Lava Cakes. Okay, I’ll start by saying something chocolate was def gonna make this list. Chocolate is the ubiquitous comfort food at least half the population craves during their low moments.
- Cheesecake Shooters. These are the bomb. And not just because these are my recipes. I was introduced to cheesecake shooters when I was a senior in high school – non-alcoholic, of course.
- Grilled Cheese. I love the grown-up version of grilled cheese. Who doesn’t love the ability to put whatever they want on it? After all, brie is an incredibly versatile cheese.
- Oreo Pull-Apart Bread. Aight, I love Oreos. They’re my guilty pleasure despite my attempts to be healthy AF. Can’t help it, they’re one the best things our society has produced (and they’re vegan-friendly) – as unhealthy as they are.
- Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Anyone who has ever read an article by me knows I love me some cheese. And broccoli cheddar soup is no exception to that umbrella.
- Popcorn. And all its variations. Popcorn is the ultimate movie theater food and – obviously – translates into being one of the ultimate Netflix foods. But you don’t need the “and chill” option when you make it for yourself.
- Egg and Avocado BLT. Everyone knows that egg and avocado are the greatest power couple of all time, yo. Yes, that is a Kanye reference – and I hate myself for making it.
- Black Tap Burger’s “The Cookie” Milkshake. This is definitely my favorite ice cream-based dessert on this list. Black Tap in New York has made amazing versions of the “freakshow shakes” created by Pâtissez in Australia and we here at Spoon have made our own version of their shakes at home.
- Mac and Cheese Hand Pies. Okay, maybe I’m a bit obsessed with cheese. Can’t help it, you always want something you shouldn’t have #lactoseintolerant.
