This crock pot chicken recipe is the perfect meal to make on a busy day, calling for just cream of mushroom soup, sliced mushrooms, and spices.

4 boneless chicken breast halves
1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper​​
1/4 teaspoon ground paprika​
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms (strained and liquid reserved)
Garnish: chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  • Sprinkle them all over with the salt, pepper, and paprika, and then arrange them in the crock pot.
  • In a bowl, whisk the cream of mushroom soup with the flour and the reserved liquid from the mushrooms. Stir the mushrooms into the soup mixture.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  • Cover the pot and cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked and tender. The chicken's internal temperature should read 165 F on an instant-read thermometer.
  • Serve sprinkled with chopped fresh parsley and enjoy.

4 chicken pieces (preferably thighs or breasts)
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
1 onion, sliced
1 cup peas
4 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Place chicken pieces in crock pot.
  • Mix soup with water and add to crock pot.
  • Add sliced onion.
  • Mix spices and sprinkle on top of chicken.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH 3-4 hours.
  • Remove chicken and keep warm.
  • Add peas to crock pot
  • Mix flour with equal parts of water stirring to a smooth paste and enter into crock pot.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH until gravy thickens.
  • Serve with baby potatoes or fluffy rice.

This rub is great on chicken done anyway at all but love the way chicken is so juicy and falls off the bone when put in a slow cooker. The recipe was originally a marlboro recipe from a book a friend gave me called a thirsty bird, but it had too much cinnamon and not enough garlic for me. The recipe here has been vamped to fit me and my family and slow cooked instead of shoving a can of beer in it's bottom and put on a BBQ grill. Both ways are good.

SEASONING RUB
2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
2 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
2 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
1 tablespoon(s) garlic powder with parsley
1 teaspoon(s) onion powder

Steps:

  • Rub this all over a chicken that was washed and patted dry. Place in the crock pot on high 2 hours then on low for 4-4 1/2 hours or on low 8 hours.
  • I served it with garlic mashed potatoes with skins and brussel sprouts, and home baked bread from a frozen bread dough and before rising, I buttered the top and added garlic powder with parsley and grated parmesean cheese. let it rise and bake as usual

3 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon each ground cumin, seasoned salt and pepper
1/2 teaspoon each white pepper, ground chipotle pepper and paprika
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1-1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 cup chicken broth
9 cups torn romaine
Optional toppings: Sliced avocado, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped tomato or halved cherry tomatoes, sliced green onions and salad dressing of choice

Steps:

  • Mix seasonings; rub over chicken. Place in a 3-qt. slow cooker. Add broth. Cook, covered, on low 3-4 hours or until chicken is tender., Remove chicken; cool slightly. Shred with 2 forks. Serve over romaine; top as desired.
