- Gather the Equipment. Gather the equipment and resources you’ll need before you begin your remover project. This will make the procedure much simpler and far less frustrating.
- Switch of the water. Switch off the water while accessing the cartridge or removing the faucet entirely. Under your sink, you should find hot and cold water shutdown valves.
- Button to Remove the Faucet Plug. The plug button is a little circular button located underneath the faucet handle. Push the button out with the grip in the correct spot.
- Taking out the Aerator. According to Kohler, you don’t need to bother about shutting off the water; all you need to do is remove the aerator. But it will be safer to remove nut screws and other utilities if they are stuck.
- Take out the Faucet Hub Assembly. Pull the hub assembly up and over the body of the faucet to remove it. Mineral accumulation may hinder the assembly from moving freely after years of use.
- Replace the Faucet Diverter. A Diverter is a little circular component positioned in the faucet’s rear. Once you can’t get out of there with your fingers, try needle-nose pliers.
- Getting to the Cartridge. You might not have to remove your Kohler kitchen faucet depending on the situation. If the spout or handle of your Kohler faucet is leaking, remove the handle to access the cartridge This cartridge’s replacement will resolve leakage and mobility difficulties.
- Replace the Faucet Rings. Remove the two o-rings and two bearings from the top and bottom of the faucet body. When replacing o-rings and bearings, wipe off the whole exterior surface of the faucet body to eliminate any loose dirt.
- Replace the Faucet Bonnet and Handle. Return the bonnet to its original position. Then, replace the plugging button and secure the set screw on the handle.
- Tighten the Under-Sink Bracket. Tighten the bracket under the sink if somehow the faucet component became free from the sink during the repair.
