SAUTEED BABY OCTOPUS
My husband bought Baby Octopus on a whim and I couldn't find a recipe that I wanted to try. So, we tried sauteing them in garlic and herbs. They turned out really good, first time cooking the little suckers, so my technique might be weird. Also, next time I might try using white wine. NOTE: I didn't measure the garlic and herbs, so what I wrote down is a very loose calculation.

Steps:
- Rinse octopi in running water. Cut head lengthwise and remove excess matter including the beak. **We separated the heads from the bodies on some of the octopi
- Add lemon juice to Octopi as they're waiting to be cooked.
- Heat olive oil in large skillet. Add minced garlic and cook until browned.
- Add Octopi and sprinkle with herbs and salt.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat, until octopi is firm and turn purple. **I cooked mine for about 7 minute Like I said, I don't know if that was too long, since it was my first time, but better be safe than sorry when it comes to cooking seafood.
- Cover and cook the final minute if needed.

KIDS' OCTOPUS SOUP
This is a recipe I learned in kindergarten, and it's great to do with your kids or make for a Halloween or an ocean-themed birthday party.

Steps:
- With a sharp knife, cut the hot dogs in half the short way. Slice each piece in half vertically, cutting about 3/4 of the way up towards the rounded end. Leave about 1 inch of the rounded end as the head of the octopus. Rotate the dog 90 degrees, and make another vertical cut. Cut the 4 legs in half again, to make 8 legs and a head. The hot dogs should look like tassels with rounded heads.
- Bring the chicken broth and chives to a boil in a soup pot. Place the octopus hot dogs into the boiling soup, and simmer for about 5 minutes. The legs will curl to make the octopus shape. Serve in bowls with an octopus or 2 in each bowl.

I make this for my picky boys! It costs roughly $1 to make if that so is very cheap to keep on hand! This is SO easy your kids can help make their own lunch/snack!

Steps:
- After draining Top Ramen noodles let kid/s pick out food color/colors.
- If you want the octopus to look like its really on the sea use blue only.
- Put a few drops on the noodles.
- Toss with forks until coated evenly.
- This does not color them completely-- more like a sprinkling/marbling effect.
- Make an X cut (crisscross) from top of wiener to the middle.
- Arrange on top of noodles to make an octopus with 4 legs.
- Make a smile and 2 eyes with ketchup or mustard and you're set!
