I grew up with this spaghetti recipe. It becomes chili when you add the chili beans My daycare kids loved it with or without the chili beans ***** I just served over cooked macaroni ( not as messy for kids), could use spaghetti

Ingredients

1 lb hamburger
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pepper
2 tablespoons fresh garlic
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 onion, diced
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans tomato soup
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans water
2 (15 ounce) cans mild chili beans

Steps:

Brown hamburger and drain grease.
Add all the seasonings , soup, water and chili beans.
Simmer at least 45 minutes to get the flavors blended well.
Need more sauce can use 1 more can soup and 1 more can water ( I have made with up to 3 cans with 1 pound of hamburger)
**Can omit the chili beans to have a mild spaghetti sauce.
Serve over spaghetti or cooked macaroni noodles.
** or just serve as chili with crackers
makes a big pot full (guess on serving size).

1 (15 ounce) can chili without beans
1/2 lb elbow macaroni
2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
1/2 medium onion
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons butter
salt

Steps:

Cook the Macaroni noodles as directed on the package.
While the macaroni is cooking, dice your onion up and saute in 1 tbsp of butter. When the onion is soft and translucent, add the can of chili, black pepper, red pepper, and garlic powder, heat on medium low until hot.
Drain the macaroni noodles, add the two cups of cheese, remaining tbsp of butter and the chili, blend until the cheese is melted, then add salt to taste.

Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven medium heat until shimmering. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt and cook, stirring often, about 1 minute more. Add the beef and cook, stirring and breaking apart the meat, until no longer pink, 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir in the broth, tomato sauce, oregano, sugar, and macaroni and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer, stirring every so often so the macaroni doesn't stick to the bottom, until the pasta is al dente, 9 to 12 minutes. Use a soup spoon to skim any grease off the top, if necessary.
Off the heat, add the evaporated milk and cheese and stir until the cheese is melted. Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary. Ladle the chili mac into bowls and sprinkle with the scallions. Serve with more shredded cheese and tortilla chips.
