1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • Mix vegetables in bowl.
  • Mix remaining ingredients in another bowl.
  • Pour over top of vegetables.
  • Mix well.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

We made our cool, crunchy slaw with just the right amount of tang from sour cream and vinegar. A bit of honey balances the acidity. This classic summer side dish would be welcome at any picnic or backyard BBQ.

5 cups thinly sliced green cabbage
1 cup grated carrots
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Toss together the cabbage and carrots in a large bowl.
  • Whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, mustard, honey and celery salt in a medium bowl. Pour the dressing over the shredded vegetables and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Season with more salt and pepper before serving.

2 lbs coleslaw mix (cabbage mix)
2 tablespoons onions, chopped
1 cup Miracle Whip
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup salad oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except cabbage mix/onion.
  • Pour over cabbage mix.
  • Mix well and refrigerate.
  • Stir a few times before serving.
  • Slaw best if made several hours before serving. It will get watery after several hours but that is normal. It will keep for 3 day in the fridge.

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
3 drops hot pepper sauce
3 tablespoons instant minced onion
6 cups cabbage, chopped
1 cup carrot, chopped

Steps:

  • Mix sugar, salt, pepper, mayonnaise, milk, buttermilk, celery seed, hot pepper sauce, and minced onion together; let sit for 15 minutes.
  • Mix cabbage, carrots, and dressing together in a large bowl.
  • Let sit for at least 1 hour up to 24 hours.
  • Serve.
  • Notes: Buttermilk can be replaced by milk with a little bit of vinegar in it, or sour cream, yogurt, or whey milk. Dry minced onions can be replaced by 1/2 cup fresh chopped onion or green onion.

1 teaspoon onion, chopped fine
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 cup milk
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup mayonnaise

Steps:

  • First core and shred the cabbage finely using the fine shredder disk attachment for the food processor.
  • Then shred the carrots.
  • In a bowl combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise, milk and lemon juice. Mix with a whisk till well combined.
  • Then add the seasoning.
  • Add the sugar to the sauce and mix well.
  • Lastly, add the sauce to the cabbage and carrot mixture and mix well Allow the mixture to marinate for 13 hrs.

I really love KFC Coleslaw and I have tried several recipes. This one is the best by far. Its nice and creamy and really compliments a good Barbecue dish. This can be made with splenda instead of sugar.

1/3 cup carrot
1 teaspoon onion, chopped fine
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup milk
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup granulated sugar

Steps:

  • Shred the cabbage fine using the fine disk for the shredder attachment to the mixer. Shred the carrot the same way. Mix together cabbage, carrot and onion.
  • In a bowl combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise, milk and lemon juice with a whisk until well combined. Add the salt and pepper. Add the sugar to the sauce until well mixed in . Add the sauce to the cabbage and carrot mixture and mix well and allow the mixture to marinate for 13 hours in the refrigerator.
  • I have used Splenda sweetener in the place of sugar, and it was great.
