Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
5 eggs
1 pinch salt
1 cup half and half
1 cup shredded Jarlsberg cheese
1 tablespoon cold butter, cut into small bits
grated nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place the pie crust in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes. Let cool completely. Meanwhile, beat the eggs in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer. Add the salt and half and half and beat until well mixed. Evenly sprinkle the cheese in the cooled pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the cheese. Dot with the butter and sprinkle everything with a little nutmeg. Place the quiche in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before cutting into wedges and serving.

1 deep dish pie shell, baked
4 eggs
1/3 cup half-and-half cream
2 tablespoons chives, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt, sea
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
2 cups jarlsberg cheese, shredded
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine eggs, cream, chives, salt and pepper in bowl and blend well.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese into bottom of baked pie shell.
  • Pour egg mixture over top of cheese and sprinkle with the bacon.
  • Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
