1 (17 ounce) package miniature bagels (found in the freezer section "or" just buy a bunch of different varieties of bagels)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (2/3 ounce) package dried Italian salad dressing mix

Steps:

  • Cut the bagels in half, lengthwise, toast in the oven on broil.
  • Mix softened cream cheese with the salad dressing mix.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture on the toasted bagel halves.
  • Place on platter and refrigerate until ready to serve.

4 sun-dried tomato bagels
1/2 lb lean virginia baked ham, thinly sliced
4 slices tomatoes
4 slices onions
4 slices mozzarella cheese
dried basil

Steps:

  • Slice bagels in half.
  • Place 2 to 3 slices of ham on bagel half.
  • Top with a slice of tomato and sliced onions.
  • Sprinkle with dried basil.
  • Top off with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
  • Place bagel half open-faced, also places the other half of the bagel alongside it in toaster oven or broiler for about 10 minutes until cheese is melted and sandwich is heated through.
  • Sandwiches probably need less time than in toaster oven, so check sandwiches occasionally.

3 day old bagels
⅓ cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  • Slice bagels into 1/8 inch thick rounds using a serrated knife. Arrange them in a single layer on the greased baking sheet. In a small bowl, stir together the olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Use a spoon or pastry brush to apply the flavored olive oil to the bagel chips. If you start to run out of the mixture, you can add a little bit more oil without sacrificing any flavor. Season the chips lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the chips are lightly browned. Remove from the oven and cool. The chips will become crispier as they cool.
