Tender cube steak, sweet bell peppers, sliced onions, and a savory pre-made Fajita Skillet Sauce combine to create an amazing Instant Pot Beef Fajita dish.

2 lbs cube steak, sliced into strips
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 large onion sliced thinly
2 Tablespoons and 1/2 cup Frontera Classic Fajita Skillet Sauce
Flour Tortillas
Lime Wedges
Grated cheese
Homemade Guacamole

Steps:

  • Set Instant pot to saute medium heat. Add 1 Tablespoon olive oil and minced garlic. Stir for 30 seconds to release garlic juices.
  • Add sliced meat, peppers, and onions. Saute for 3 minutes until meat beings to brown and peppers and onions begin to sweat.
  • Add 2 Tablespoons Fajita sauce. Turn saute off and and select meat setting, 8 minutes, place lid on pot, make sure valve is sealed.
  • Allow to naturally release 10 minutes. Cover valve and quick release after 10 minutes of natural release. Press cancel. Carefully remove lid.
  • Add additional 1/2 cup Fajita Skillet Sauce. Stir to combine and heated through. Using tongs remove cooked meat and vegetables. Place on serving platter. Serve with toasted flour tortillas, lime wedges, grated cheese, and guacamole.

2 lbs beef round steak, cut into thin strips
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup beef broth
1 large sweet pepper, thinly sliced
Warmed tortillas and fajita toppings of your choice for serving

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, toss beef strips with seasonings, onion, and garlic. Heat oil in instant pot using BROWN/SAUTE mode. Add beef mixture to instant pot and saute several minutes until beef is just barely browned.
  • Pour beef broth into instant pot and place lid on top. Cook beef at High Pressure 15 minutes, then release steam naturally for about 5 minutes. Remove lid and stir sweet peppers into beef. Lock lid and let stand an additional 5 minutes. Serve beef and peppers warm in tortillas with your choice of toppings. Enjoy!

A honey-jalapeno marinade tenderizes flank steak for the grill as the base for these hearty fajitas. Charred peppers and onions add bulk and flavor.

1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup torn cilantro
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon thyme leaves
6 cloves garlic, smashed
2 jalapenos, seeded
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds flank steak
2 red bell peppers, cut into 1-inch strips
2 yellow bell peppers, cut into 1-inch strips
2 large red onions, thickly sliced
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 limes, juiced
Kosher salt
Neutral oil, for oiling the grill grates
Warm tortillas, for serving
Suggested toppings: guacamole, sour cream, lime wedges, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapenos, pico de gallo, crumbled cotija cheese

Steps:

  • For the sweet and spicy marinade: Put the olive oil, cilantro, honey, lime juice, thyme, garlic, jalapenos, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in a food processor and pulse to puree. Transfer the mixture to a nonreactive container, add the flank steak and toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours before cooking
  • For the peppers and onions: Heat a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until hot. Toss the peppers and onions in a bowl with the olive oil, lime juice and 1 teaspoon salt. Add the pepper-onion mixture to the hot pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and the edges are charred, 8 to 10 minutes. Set aside.
  • Prepare a grill for medium-high heat and brush the grill grates with oil.
  • Grill the flank steak until marked, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium rare. Transfer to a cutting board and thinly slice.
  • Serve with the warm tortillas and toppings.

8 ounces steak, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon chili powder

1-1/2 pounds beef top sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup water
1 large sweet red pepper, thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
8 flour tortillas (8 inches), warmed
Optional toppings: Sliced avocado and jalapeno peppers, shredded cheddar cheese and chopped tomatoes

Steps:

  • In a bowl, toss steak with cumin, salt, chili powder and red pepper flakes. Select saute setting on a 6-qt. electric pressure cooker. Adjust for medium heat; add oil. When oil is hot, brown meat in batches and remove. Add water, lemon juice and garlic to cooker; stir to loosen any browned bits. Press cancel. Return beef to cooker. Lock lid; close pressure-release valve. Adjust to pressure-cook on high for 20 minutes., Allow pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick-release any remaining pressure. Remove steak with a slotted spoon; keep warm., Add red pepper and onion to cooker. Lock lid; close pressure-release valve. Adjust to pressure-cook on high for 5 minutes. Quick-release pressure. Serve vegetables and steak with tortillas and desired toppings.
