PRESSURE COOKER SPARE RIBS AND SAUERKRAUT
Spareribs are browned in oil, seasoned, then finished in the pressure cooker with brown sugar and sauerkraut. Delicious fall flavors.

- Set the pressure cooker to "saute" mode and add the oil. When hot, add the spareribs and cook, turning frequently, to brown on all sides. Season the ribs with salt and pepper as desired and then top with the sauerkraut. Add the water and sprinkle the brown sugar over everything. Close the cover and set it to pressure cook for 15 minutes. Use the quick release method when the time is up. Serve the spareribs with the sauerkraut.

- Place cabbage in the pot of a multi-functional electric pressure cooker. Add vinegar, water, and salt. Stir and cover.
- Lock the lid, close the vent, and select Chicken/Meat setting according to manufacturer's instructions. Set timer for 15 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
- Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, 10 to 40 minutes.

Steps:
- Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and select Saute function. Add bacon; cook until crispy, 8 to 10 minutes. Pull bacon out with tongs and set in a bowl. Add kielbasa to the pot; lightly brown on all sides, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove with tongs and place in the bowl with the bacon.
- Saute onions in the pot until soft, 2 to 3 minutes. Crumble the bacon and add to the pot. Stir in brown sugar. Add potatoes, sauerkraut, chicken broth, apple, beer, and salt. Mix gently.
- Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 12 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
- Release pressure using the natural-release method for 10 minutes according to manufacturer's instructions. Release remaining pressure carefully using the quick-release method. Unlock and remove the lid.

This is a recipe that my husband's mother use to make and I have been making it for years. Very easy,tasty one dish meal. This can be made in a crockpot.
