Iced French Coffee Food

FRENCH PRESS ICED COFFEE

Steps:

• Grind the coffee beans to a medium grind using a coffee grinder (a burr grinder is most consistent but not required). The size of grind is important: if it's too fine it can create sediment; if it's too coarse it's not flavorful enough.
• Heat the water to hot but not boiling (200 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit) using an electric kettle, or bring it to a boil on the stovetop and then let it sit for 1 minute to decrease in temperature.
• Add the coffee grounds to the bottom of the pot.
• Add hot water to the height of the coffee and stir with a spoon. Set a timer and wait for 1 minute.
• Fill the French press to the top (just below the spout) and stir again. Set a timer and wait for 4 minutes.
• Place the lid on the French press and slowly press the plunger all the way down.
• Fill two tall glasses with ice. Pour the hot coffee over the ice (about half the ice should melt). Add additional ice if necessary. If desired, serve with a splash of milk or a drizzle of sweetener like maple syrup or simple syrup.

FRENCH VANILLA COFFEE (ICED)

Steps:

• Combine ice cubes and milk together in an electric blender, until smooth (approx 1 minute).
• Blend till smooth.
• Add the rest of the ingredients and blend till foamy (approx 1 minute).
• Serve in a large glass.

ICED FRENCH COFFEE

Steps:

• In a VERY large bowl (13" diameter), mix ingredients together. Freeze in plastic containers at least 24 hours. Take out 2-3 hours before serving to thaw. Punch should be slushy. You can defrost in microwave to help speed process.
• NOTE: I mix in a large stainless mixing bowl and only do half the recipe at a time! One-half recipe fills about one punch bowl. This recipe is easy to cut in half, or even quarter. It lasts about a month in freezer, so it is good to make ahead.

MCDONALD'S VANILLA ICED COFFEE

Steps:

• Brew coffee.
• When coffee is done brewing, you may place it in the freezer for 15 minutes to cool it down a little so less ice will be melted.
• Fill 22 ounce cup to top with ice.
• Add syrup and half & half to cup.
• Fill cup rest of way to top with coffee.
• Mix carefully but thoroughly with spoon.
• Add straw.
• Enjoy!

FRENCH COFFEE (CAFFE FRANCAIS)

Steps:

• Beat the cream until it's rich and fluffy, with soft peaks (or use already whipped cream from a can).
• Mix in the powdered sugar, and continue to beat until you have stiff peaks.
• Split whipped cream between 2 mugs.
• Add vanilla to the hot coffee, then pour over cream.
• Serve right away, Don't stir!
