1 all-beef hot dog
1 hot dog bun
1 packet ketchup
1 packet prepared yellow mustard
2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

Prepare your child's lunch box by packing the hot dog bun, ketchup, mustard and Cheddar cheese.
Preheat your child's insulated beverage container by filling with boiling water. Let stand for 15 to 20 minutes. I put the kettle on when I get up and let it heat while the kids get ready for school. Right before they leave, dump out that water and replace with more boiling water. The preheating keeps it hot for a longer time. Place a hot dog into the water and close the lid.
When your child is ready for lunch, they can take the hot hot dog out of the container and place it on the bun. Top with ketchup, mustard and cheese to make a hot lunch from home.

4 good quality beef hot dogs
Olive oil
Sea salt

Steps:

Add hot dogs to cold salted water and bring them up to a boil. Turn them off and keep them warm in the hot water. Serve warm.
For an added kick of flavor try splitting the boiled dogs almost all the way in half. Open them up and add to a hot pan which a little olive oil has been added. Cook over medium heat until brown on both sides.

Hot dogs are always a hit with the kids (and big kids too) at all the parties that we have. Here using par-bake dinner rolls or small sized rolls and cocktail frankfurts, baked in the oven for a quick appetizer or snack for any party. So easy to make and very economical too. This recipe is easily doubled. Par-bake rolls are found in most supermarkets and sold in packs of 6 or 12.

12 par-bake bread rolls (small size approx 2 inches long) or 12 bread, rolls- small cigar shaped
12 cocktail frankfurters
2/3 cup grated cheese (we like to use Tasty Cheddar cheese)
tomato sauce or mustard, to serve

Steps:

.Preheat oven to 200°C and either line a baking tray with paper of lightly grease the tray.
Slit the rolls from the top, being careful not to cut all the way through.
Place a cocktail frankfurt in each roll and place on the tray. Sprinkle over some cheese.
Bake 10 minutes- the cheese should be nicely melted and the frankfurt heated through.
Serve with tomato sauce/ketchup or mustard on the side. Enjoy!
