LEMON GINGER GARLIC DRINK

refreshing and healthy, this lemon ginger drink will cleanse your body and feed your soul.

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 organic lemons
4 cloves of garlic
1.5" of fresh ginger
1/2 gallon filtered, mineral, or spring water
Honey - to taste

Steps:

  • Thoroughly wash the lemons
  • Slice lemons, leaving skin on and add to blender
  • Peel garlic and add to blender
  • Peel ginger and cut into small pieces and add to blender
  • Add about a quarter of the water to blender
  • Blend ingredients until the mixture is well blended and fairly smooth
  • Pour mixture into a pot and add remaining water
  • Cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes while stirring occasionally
  • Once it thickens into a more syrup like texture you turn off the heat and let cool
  • Once cooled, filter the mixture into a glass bottle with a funnel
  • Add honey
  • Close container and shake well and refrigerate until it is chilled

3-4 fresh garlic cloves - chopped, grated or minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger - peel, then grate or mince
3 pieces dried astragalus root - optional
2 teaspoons cinnamon chips or 1 small cinnamon stick - optional
4 cups boiling filtered water
1 organic lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons honey or organic maple syrup grade B

Steps:

  • Prep garlic and ginger - peel, chop/grate.
  • Boil water in sauce pan or tea kettle.
  • In a quart-size mason jar or heat-proof glass container, add chopped garlic, grated ginger, astragalus root and optional cinnamon chips. CAREFULLY pour boiling water into the mason jar. COVER with lid and steep for 30 minutes.
  • Strain with a fine mesh strainer into another mason jar or glass container.
  • Add the juice of 1 lemon and sweetener of choice to the garlic-ginger mixture.
  • Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for later. Serve hot.

  • In a medium-size saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add honey, juice, and ginger and stir gently for several minutes.
  • Pour into mugs and serve immediately.

  • In a saucepan, bring the water, honey and ginger to a boil. Remove from heat; cover and steep for 10 minutes. Strain, discarding ginger. Cool., Transfer to a pitcher; stir in soda and lemon juice. Serve over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint, if desired.
