HONEY SOY GLAZED SALMON RECIPE BY TASTY

Honey Soy Glazed Salmon Recipe by Tasty image

Two words: honey salmon! Sure, it takes a tiny bit of prep work, but once you marinate your salmon, you won't be able to go back. A simple mix of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger coats and flavors your fish for 30 minutes before you throw it on the pan until the outside is perfectly crispy. Once that's done, you heat up and reduce some extra marinade to make a thick, to-die-for glaze to pour over your filet. Serve with your favorite veggies or rice and enjoy!

Provided by Robin Broadfoot

Categories     Dinner

Yield 2 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

12 oz skinless salmon
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ginger, minced
½ teaspoon red pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
⅓ cup less sodium soy sauce
⅓ cup honey

Steps:

  • Place salmon in a sealable bag or medium bowl.
  • In a small bowl or measuring cup, mix marinade ingredients.
  • Pour half of the marinade on the salmon. Save the other half for later.
  • Let the salmon marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a medium pan, heat oil. Add salmon to the pan, but discard the used marinade. Cook salmon on one side for about 2-3 minutes, then flip over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove salmon from pan. Pour in remaining marinade and reduce.
  • Serve the salmon with sauce and a side of veggies. We used broccoli.
  • Enjoy!

HONEY-AND-SOY-GLAZED CHICKEN THIGHS

Honey-and-Soy-Glazed Chicken Thighs image

In this simple weeknight recipe, chicken thighs are tossed with a sweet-salty glaze made of honey and soy sauce that caramelizes into a sticky coating as it roasts in the oven. Serve the sliced chicken with bibb lettuce cups for wrapping, or over steamed rice to catch all the juices. Leftovers can be chopped and combined with vegetables for a tasty clean-out-the-fridge fried rice.

Provided by Kay Chun

Categories     dinner, easy, lunch, weeknight, poultry, main course

Time 45m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon minced ginger
6 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (see tip)
5 tablespoons mild honey, such as clover, acacia or orange blossom
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
Kosher salt and black pepper
8 small bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 3 pounds)
Lemon wedges, for serving

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce and honey and simmer, stirring occasionally, until reduced and slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. (You'll want to cook attentively for this step, as the syrupy mixture can burn if it cooks too long.) Turn off the heat then whisk in the butter. Season with salt and pepper.
  • On an aluminum foil-lined rimmed baking sheet, season the chicken all over with salt and pepper. Add half the glaze and the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and toss the chicken to coat. Arrange in an even layer, skin side up, and roast until browned, 15 minutes. Brush the chicken all over with 2 tablespoons of the remaining glaze. Roast until golden and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Drizzle the chicken with the remaining glaze and serve with lemon wedges.

HONEY VINEGAR GLAZE

Honey Vinegar Glaze image

My father cooked Chinese food as a hobby and passion, so there was always this shelf in the pantry filled with soy sauce, sesame oil, dried mushrooms and black vinegar. The vinegar had such a rich flavor, like acid combined with a fortified wine and some rich earthy taste I never could put into words. I just knew I loved it. Make this glaze and store it in the fridge if you want. P.S. I don't peel ginger. I think grating with the skin on has more flavor and saves a step!

Provided by Alex Guarnaschelli

Categories     condiment

Time 10m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons black vinegar
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, bring the honey to a simmer. When it starts to foam and turn light brown, pour in the black and red wine vinegars. Simmer over high heat for 1 to 2 minutes so the vinegars meld with the honey and reduce slightly. Remove from the heat and stir in the ginger.
  • Use the glaze on pork, chicken or salmon. Brush the glaze on towards the end of the cooking process or drizzle over the fully cooked meat or fish of choice.

SALMON WITH HONEY-SOY GLAZE AND GINGER-BUTTER SAUCE

Salmon With Honey-Soy Glaze and Ginger-Butter Sauce image

This is a recipe from the R.S.V.P. section in the Bon Appetit magazine. The original recipe suggests Sea Bass, but I have routinely used salmon. Takes a bit of time, but is well worth the effort.

Provided by Penuchek

Categories     Broil/Grill

Time 45m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon cold water
2 1/4 teaspoons cornstarch
24 ounces salmon fillets
2 cups dry white wine
1/3 cup finely chopped shallot
2 tablespoons finely chopped peeled fresh ginger
1 teaspoon finely chopped peeled fresh ginger
1 cup whipping cream
3 tablespoons chilled butter, cut into pieces

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine vinegar, soy sauce and honey in small saucepan over high heat. Mix 1 tablespoon cold water and cornstarch in small bowl. Whisk into soy mixture. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium; simmer until mixture thickens to glaze, stirring frequently, about 2 minutes.
  • Pour 1/2 cup glaze into shallow baking dish. Add fish; turn to coat with glaze. Transfer to rimmed baking sheet. Bake until fish is opaque in center, about 18 minutes. Spoon remaining glaze over fish. Broil until glaze is bubbling and begins to caramelize, about 2 minutes. Using metal spatula, transfer fish to plates. Serve with Ginger-Butter Sauce.
  • Ginger-Butter Sauce.
  • Combine wine, shallots and 2 tablespoons chopped ginger in heavy medium saucepan over high heat. Boil until mixture is reduced to 1 cup, about 15 minutes. Add whipping cream and simmer until mixture is reduced to 1 1/4 cups, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Add butter 1 piece at a time, whisking mixture until each piece is melted before adding next piece. Strain sauce into medium bowl, pressing on solids. Stir in remaining 1 teaspoon ginger. Season to taste with salt and pepper. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill. Rewarm over low heat before using.).
