HONEY-GARLIC NOODLES



Honey-Garlic Noodles image

These honey-garlic noodles are perfect as is, or as a side dish served with chicken, steak, or a fried egg or tossed with your favorite stir-fried veggies. The recipe comes together very quickly, so get everything diced, sliced, minced, and prepped first.

Number Of Ingredients 15

Honey-Garlic Sauce:
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup mirin
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 or 2 fresh bird's-eye chiles, finely diced
1 tablespoon honey
Noodles and friends:
12 ounces thin egg noodles
2 tablespoons sunflower or vegetable oil
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
6 scallions, thinly sliced
2 limes: 1 halved, 1 cut into wedges for serving
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Fresh cilantro or your favorite spicy herbs, for serving

Steps:

  • Make the sauce:
  • In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients. Stir and set aside.
  • Make the noodles and friends:
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the noodles according to the package directions. When 1 minute of cooking time remains and the noodles are softened but firm, drain.
  • In a wok, heat the sunflower oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the noodles and ginger and stir-fry for 2 minutes, keeping the noodles moving the entire time.
  • Pour in the sauce and cook for 1 minute, tossing to ensure that the noodles are completely coated. Turn off the heat.
  • Toss in the scallions, squeeze the juice of the halved lime on top, and sprinkle on the sesame seeds. Give everything a good toss to mix and combine.
  • Serve with the lime wedges and fresh cilantro or spicy greens.

6 chicken thighs
2 teaspoons garlic powder
salt and ground black pepper to taste
6 cloves garlic, crushed
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup water
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear until golden, 10 to 12 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the centers should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Drain most of the excess grease from the pan, leaving about 2 tablespoons behind.
  • Arrange chicken thighs skin-side down in the pan. Place crushed garlic between the chicken and fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add honey, water, vinegar, and soy sauce. Increase heat to medium-high and cook until sauce reduces down and thickens slightly, 3 to 4 minutes.

If you want a break from the traditional spaghetti and tomato sauce, this it the best! It turned out so good, I love it and wanted seconds!!

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 -3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 dash ground black pepper
2 cups Baby Spinach
2 carrots
2 cups broccoli
1/2 cup green onion
1 cup asparagus
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup feta cheese (crumbled)
4 tablespoons parmesan cheese
1 (10 ounce) jar honey garlic sauce
5 -6 cups spaghetti noodles (cooked)

Steps:

  • Grab your cutting board and clean off your chicken. Rinse under cold water, cut off access fat and grizzle. Slice chicken in to thumb size strips.
  • In a Wok, on med high heat, add 1 teaspoons oil, chicken, garlic and onion powder with the dash of black pepper. Once the chicken is all cooked, add in the jar of honey garlic sauce and cook until sauce has really thicken up. Then simmer until you are ready to mix in the noodles and veggies.
  • Meanwhile as the chicken is cooking, in a large pot, boil and cook up your spaghetti. (10 minutes).
  • Chop up your baby spinach, carrots, broccoli, asparagus and green onion. In a frying pan on medium heat, add in 1/2 teaspoons olive oil, add in veggies and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese and pepper on the veggies. Fry together until baby spinach as wilted about 5 minutes.
  • Once the spaghetti noddles are done, drain and add Parmesan cheese, feta cheese and butter. Mix well. Then place noodles in the wok with honey garlic chicken. Mix up and then add the veggies and mix up well.
