1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
5 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 -2 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water

Steps:

  • Mix all but cornstarch and 1/4c water in a sauce pan and begin heating.
  • Mix cornstarch and cold water in a cup and dissolve.
  • After sauce is simmering, add cornstarch and water mixture, whisking well until sauce thickens.
  • Heat until sauce thickens to desired thickness.
  • Add water to thin if you over-thick it :).

Steps:

  • Combine dry ingredients in a bowl, or blender.
  • Add liquids and mix very well.
  • Transfer to a tightly sealed jar and refrigerate for at least four hours - overnight is best.

1 1/2 cloves minced garlic (I use jar type)
4 teaspoons oil
8 tablespoons sherry wine
8 tablespoons soy sauce
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (like at pizza restaurants)
4 teaspoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Brown pork chops in oil.
  • In a bowl, combine garlic, sherry wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes -- mix well.
  • Add to pork chops and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Remove pork chops.
  • Mix cornstarch and water.
