Healthiest Bbq Sauce Food
HEALTHY BBQ SAUCE
We love BBQ sauce at home but the sugar content is a worry. Here I have created a great tasting sauce which is healthy too. My kids love this.

Number Of Ingredients 0
Steps:
- Add a little olive oil to the pan and add the onion and garlic cooking gently for 5 mins.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and simmer gently for another 5 mins.
- You can leave the BBQ sauce like this or blend it for a smoother texture.
- You can then cover and put in the fridge for up to 3 days but I'm sure it'll be gone before then!

- In a small saucepan, add water, tomato paste, applesauce, molasses, apple cider vinegar, honey, onion and garlic powders, mustard, liquid smoke, salt and cayenne pepper. Whisk until well combined.
- Bring to a boil, cover half way with a lid to prevent splashing and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir a few times to prevent burning on the bottom.
- Let cool and transfer to a glass jar. Use as you would use a store bought BBQ sauce or when making Instant Pot ribs.
