HAMBURGER STEAK SKILLET CASSEROLE
Hamburger Steak Skillet Casserole consists of a hearty ground beef mixture in a thick gravy with diced tomatoes covered with a layer of white cheddar mashed potatoes.

Steps:
- Heat oil in a 12-inch cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, onion, and mushrooms. Break ground beef apart as it cooks and cook until beef is browned and onion and mushrooms are soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme and cook 1 minute.
- Stir flour into mixture and cook 1 minute.
- Stir in tomatoes, condensed French onion soup, beef broth, parsley, vinegar, and garlic powder.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, peel potatoes and cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks. Place in a pot and cover with water. Add salt to the water ( a few teaspoons) and bring to a boil. Simmer until potatoes are soft.
- Drain potatoes. add butter, milk, and cheese. Mash with a potato masher until smooth. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Spread potatoes on top of beef mixture. Transfer pan to oven and broil for about 3 to 5 minutes.

- In a 12-inch cast-iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add beef, onion, mushrooms, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper, stirring until beef is browned and crumbly and vegetables are tender, approximately 6 minutes. Add flour to skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Add tomato, soup, broth, ⅓ cup parsley, vinegar, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Preheat oven to broil. Prepare potatoes according to package directions. In a large bowl, stir together cooked potatoes, cheese, milk, and butter until smooth. Spoon mashed potatoes over ground beef mixture.
- Broil until topping is golden brown, approximately 5 minutes. Garnish with remaining 1 tablespoon chopped parsley.

- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the ground beef, onion and celery and saute for 10 minutes, or until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain the fat and set aside.
- In a separate saucepan, cook noodles according to package directions. When cooked, drain the water and stir in the meat mixture, chili, tomatoes, corn, taco sauce, and taco seasoning mix. Mix well and place entire mixture into a 10x15-inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until thoroughly heated and bubbling, about 20 minutes.

- In large bowl, combine ground beef, worcestershire, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper; shape mixture into 5 (1/2-inch thick) patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef patties, and cooke for 4-5 minutes per side or until browned.
- Remove patties from skillet, and set aside.
- Drain skillet, reserving 1 T skillet drippings.
- In the same skillet, heat reserved drippings over medium high heat.
- Add mushrooms and onion, and cook, stirring frequently, for 5-6 minutes, or until tender.
- Return beef patties to skillet.
- In small bowl, combine consomme, broth, and gravy mix; add to skillet.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until beef patties are cooked through and sauce is thickened.
- Serve immediately over hot cooked egg noodles, if desired.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
