Thanks to frozen dough and ready-made sauce, making homemade pizza is easy as pie. Provolone has a richer flavor than mozzarella, so you don't need as much.

2 teaspoons vegetable oil, such as safflower
All-purpose flour, for work surface
1 pound frozen pizza dough, thawed
3/4 cup store-bought marinara sauce
1 cup grated provolone cheese (4 ounces)
1 cup grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
1/4 pound ground beef chuck
Coarse salt and ground pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Rub a large rimless baking sheet (or a rimmed one, upside down) with oil.
  • On a lightly floured work surface, use a rolling pin and your hands to roll and stretch dough into a 15-by-11-inch rectangle (if dough becomes too elastic to work with, let it rest a few minutes). Transfer to prepared sheet.
  • Spread sauce evenly over dough, leaving a 1-inch border all around. Top with provolone, tomatoes, and if desired, onion; scatter beef over top. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Bake until crust is golden, beef is cooked, and cheese is melted, about 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

This is a great, simple, and inexpensive pizza to make. My family doesn't like a pizza with all of the extra's on it and this works for dinner.

16 ounces safeway refrigerator biscuits, in roll container
4 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon oregano
1 lb browned hamburger, broken into small pieces
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4 ounces pineapple chunks

Steps:

  • Leave the refrigerator biscuits in the container on the counter for about 10 minutes, it is easier to spread the refrigerator rolls out when they are at room temperature.
  • Open the containers and squish the rolls out onto a greased pizza pan, slightly over lapping the rolls. On big you want your pizza depends on how spread out you put the rolls and how thick you want the dough.
  • Bake in the oven for 7-10 minutes at 375 only until the dough puffs and starts to get stiff to the touch, just before it starts to brown.
  • Remove dough from the oven.
  • Mix the tomato sauce and oregano together.
  • Spread tomato sauce mix onto the dough.
  • Spread the hamburger over the sauce.
  • Spread the shredded mozzerella cheese over the hamburger.
  • Sprinkle pineapple over the cheese.
  • Bake the pizza another 10 minutes at 375 or until the cheese is melted and the dough just starts to turn brown.

1 pkg. (1/4 oz.) active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water (105°F to 110°F)
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp. oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup CLASSICO Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce
2 cups KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Sprinkle yeast over combined warm water and sugar in large bowl; stir until yeast is dissolved. Let stand 5 min. Mix flour, oil and salt. Add to yeast mixture; stir until mixture forms soft dough.
  • Place on lightly floured surface; knead 5 min. or until dough is smooth and elastic. Shape into ball; flatten slightly. Place on large baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray; cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place 20 min.
  • Meanwhile, microwave meat in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until done; drain. Break up meat with spoon. Add sauce; mix well.
  • Heat oven to 425°F. Divide dough into 4 pieces; stretch and pat each piece into 7-inch round. Place on baking sheet; top with meat mixture and mozzarella. Bake 18 to 20 min. or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown. Top with Parmesan.
