1 fully cooked bone-in ham (6 to 8 pounds)
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon ground mustard
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup cold water
1 can (15 ounces) pitted dark sweet cherries, undrained
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°. Place ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Using a sharp knife, score surface of ham with 1/4-in.-deep cuts in a diamond pattern. Mix brown sugar, syrup and mustard; rub over ham and press into cuts. Bake, covered, until a thermometer reads 140°, 1-3/4 to 2 hours., In a small saucepan, mix cornstarch, sugar and water until smooth. Add cherries; bring to a boil. Cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice and almond extract. Serve warm with ham.

1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • Preheat oven to 325°. Place ham on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Score the surface of ham, making diamond shapes 1/2 in. deep. 1/2 cup apple jelly
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2/3 cup ginger ale, divided
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Steps:

  • Score surface of ham, making diamond shapes 1/2 in. deep. In a small bowl, combine the jelly, mustard and 1 tablespoon ginger ale; rub over scored surface of ham. Cut ham in half; place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until a thermometer reads 140°, basting with cooking juices near the end of cooking time., For sauce, place pie filling in a saucepan. whole cloves
parsley sprig
32 ounces red tart pitted cherries in juice, undrained (16oz each)
2/3-3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice (of the can)
4 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 cup cornstarch
7 1/4-10 3/4 teaspoons Equal sugar substitute, for recipes or 24 -36 teaspoons Equal sugar substitute
artificial sweetener (24-36 packets) or 1 -1 1/2 cup Equal Spoonful
red food coloring (optional)

Steps:

  • Place ham in roasting pan; stud with cloves. Roast ham at 325°F until.

Whisk in the brown sugar, cherry preserves, pepper, cinnamon, and cloves and cook, whisking often, until the mixture is thickened and reduced to about 1 cup, this will take about 7-10 minutes. Set aside.
  • Once the ham reaches an internal temperature of 100 degrees F, remove it from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
