Steps:
- Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and garlic; cook until the bacon starts to brown, about 4 minutes. Add the ground beef; cook, stirring, 3 minutes. Add the brandy, shallots, carrots, celery and tomato paste; cook until the vegetables soften, about 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Crush the tomatoes into the pan with your hands and add any juices from the can. Stir in the broth, bay leaf, orange peel and olives. Bring to a simmer and lower the heat; cover and cook 20 minutes. Uncover, increase the heat and bring to a boil to thicken the sauce.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil the gnocchi until one floats to the top, about 1 minute. Drain immediately to prevent the gnocchi from becoming mushy. Remove the orange peel and bay leaf from the sauce and season with salt and pepper. Toss the gnocchi with the sauce.
GROUND BEEF GNOCCHI
This quick one pan ground beef gnocchi recipe has a creamy tomato sauce and turns store-bought gnocchi into a gourmet meal. It'll be a family favorite!

Steps:
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for 7-10 minutes. If there's lots of excess fat, spoon most of it out.
- Stir in the garlic and Italian seasoning.
- Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, cream, and gnocchi to the pan, and give it a good stir. Once the sauce starts to bubble again, cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Uncover the pan, stir it, and let it cook for another few minutes, or until the gnocchi has cooked through and is nice and soft and the sauce has thickened to your liking.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese and salt & pepper as needed. Serve immediately.

- Preheat broiler. Cook gnocchi according to package directions; drain., Meanwhile, in a large cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, 4-6 minutes, breaking meat into crumbles. Drain., Stir in half the bacon; add gnocchi, water, cream and ketchup. Bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, over medium heat until sauce has thickened, 3-4 minutes. Add salt and pepper. GNOCCHI ALLA VODKA WITH GROUND BEEF
This gnocchi has a vodka cream sauce and just the right amount of ground sirloin to give substance without being too heavy.

- Bring a pot of water to boil. Add gnocchi and cook until floating, 5 to 6 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water.
- Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-low heat; add shallot and garlic. Gently cook until shallot has softened and garlic is fragrant, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Turn heat up to medium and add the ground sirloin, salt, and red pepper flakes. Add in tomato paste. Allow tomato paste to caramelize. Pour in vodka and deglaze the pan by bringing sauce to a boil while scraping the browned bits with a wooden spoon. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Pour cream into the pan and stir until the paste has completely incorporated. Allow to gently simmer until the sauce begins to thicken, 5 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle in 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese and stir until it melts.
- Add drained gnocchi to the pan along with reserved 1/2 cup water. Serve topped with basil leaves.
