Raise the stakes by seasoning a thick cut sirloin steak with sweet & spicy steak rub. The pure, clean Jacobsen Salt Co. sea salt combined with the spicy paprika, chili powder, & brown sugar will make meat memorable.

sirloin steak
garlic powder
onion powder
paprika
chile powder
Brown sugar
fine sea salt
Ground black pepper

Steps:

  • When ready to cook, set the Traeger temperature to 500°F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.
  • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, chile powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
  • Rub the steaks on both sides with the spice mixture.
  • Insert the probe horizontally into the center of a steak, avoiding the bone. Place the steaks directly on the grill grates at the outer edges of the grill (typically the hottest part of the grill). Close the lid and cook until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare, 3-4 minutes, or your desired temperature. Flip and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

1 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup red wine vinegar or 1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil or 1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon honey
1 boneless beef top sirloin steak (2 inch thick)

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first seven ingredients, add beef.
  • Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight. Drain and discard the marinade.
  • Grill steak, covered over INDIRECT medium heat for 18-20 minutes per side, or until meat reached desired doneness.
