These Homemade Burgers are seasoned with a spiced coffee rub that elevates the flavor of the beef and makes for a truly epic hamburger!

1 1/2 Tbsp ground coffee
1/2 Tbsp salt
1/2 Tbsp paprika
1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 Tbsp pepper
1/2 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
1/4 Tbsp ground coriander
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 yellow onion (diced)
3 cloves garlic (roughly minced)
1/2 cup ketchup
1 1/2 Tbsp tomato paste
6 oz Dr Pepper
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp ancho chile powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 Tbsp brewed coffee
2 lbs Angus ground beef (85/15)
2 Tbsp heavy cream (or extra bbq sauce)
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Brioche or pretzel buns
green leaf or arugula lettuce
8 slices cooked bacon

Steps:

  • Combine coffee rub seasoning mix ingredients in a small bowl and mix together with a fork. Set aside.
  • Melt butter over MED heat in a saucepan. Add onion and garlic and saute until soft and translucent, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Add remaining bbq sauce ingredients, stirring to combine. Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, until sauce has thickened.
  • Pour sauce into blender or food processor and puree. Set aside to cool.
  • To a mixing bowl, add ground beef, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands. Divide into 6 equal sections. Each burger will be about 1/3 pound.
  • Use your thumbs to press a half dollar sized divot in the center of each patty (this will help prevent the burger from doming up while cooking).
  • Liberally rub coffee seasoning mix over both sides of each burger.
  • Preheat grill over MED HIGH heat and lightly brush grates with vegetable oil if desired. Grill burgers, for about 5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is achieved.
  • While burgers are grilling, toast buns on the grill as well.
  • To serve, spread bbq sauce over the top and bottom buns, then top the bottom bun with a piece of lettuce, a cooked burger, a smear of more bbq sauce, some bacon, then top with the top bun.

These world famous garlic burgers have just three seasonings and a legion of fans, and are simply one of the very best burgers you'll every bite into.

1 1/4 pounds 85% lean chuck beef
8 teaspoons garlic powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 slices mild cheddar cheese
4 slices Monterey jack cheese
1 loaf French bread
2 cups iceberg lettuce (, shredded)
2 slices yellow onion
1 large tomato (, sliced)
Hamburger chip pickles
Ketchup and mustard

Steps:

  • Prepare grill with Cowboy® Hardwood Lump Charcoal and light.
  • Divide the hamburger meat into 4 equal portions. Lightly form the meat into balls. Use the lid of a small saucepan (one that is slightly concave works best) and smash each ball into a patty.
  • Season each side of the patties with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Once grill is hot and coals have ashed over, spread the charcoal in the bottom of the grill and place the burgers on the grill grate. Cook the burgers undisturbed until browning at the edges and flip once. Add one slice of cheddar cheese and one slice of Monterey jack cheese to each burger. Top with the grill lid to melt the cheese.
  • Cut the french bread into 5-inch lengths and then slice in half. Press the bread down with your hand to flatten slightly.
  • Layer each french bread bun with 2 patties, lettuce, onions, tomato and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard. Slice in half and serve with potato chips and pepperoncinis on the side.

These burgers are seasoned with Rub My Meat Kona coffee rub and fresh garlic. They are the perfect dinner on the grill and can be served on a bun or lettuce wrap.

1 lb. ground chuck (80/20)
1 clove garlic, (minced finely)
2 tbsp Rub My Meat Kona Coffee Rub, (divided)
1 tbsp olive oil
2 buns, (split and toasted)
2 slices garlic cheese, (from the deli)
Romaine lettuce, (for topping)
Heirloom tomatoes, (sliced, for topping)

Steps:

  • Take your ground meat and put it into a medium bowl. Add 1 tbsp of the Kona coffee rub and the minced garlic and mix it into the meat. Mix lightly but thoroughly.
  • Form the mixture into two large patties. The patties should be slightly bigger than the buns you will be using.
  • Top both sides of burgers with the other 1 tbsp of the Kona coffee rub. Rub the burgers with a little olive oil so they do not stick to the grill.
  • Heat up your charcoal using a charcoal chimney. When the coals are ready, dump them into the heat chamber of the grill. Place burgers over the hottest part of the grill and cook 5-7 minutes per side until medium-well.
  • Add buns split side down and toast for 1-2 minutes on the grill. Remove and set aside.
  • Add cheese to the tops of your burgers and allow to melt.
  • Remove your burgers onto your buns. Top with lettuce, tomato and any other toppings you like.

3 tablespoons finely chopped mixed fresh herbs (including parsley,basil,oregano,chives, or tarragon leaves)
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
1 1/2 lbs ground round or 1 1/2 lbs ground chuck
coarse salt
black pepper
6 deli hamburger buns (such as kaiser)
melted butter

Steps:

  • Place all the herbs, garlic, pepper, and butter in a small mixing bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until slightly fluffy.
  • (you can do the mixing with a or food processor) Place a 12" square piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper on your work surface and mound the flavored butter in the center.
  • Roll herb butter into cylinder shape within plastic, twisting the ends to compress the butter.
  • Chill the butter in the refrigerator or freeze until firm.
  • Butter will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
  • Burger Preparation: Make hamburger patties as usual, but for each one place your thumb in the middle and press an indentation almost through (but not quite) to the other side of the meat.
  • Unwrap formed butter and cut crosswise into 1/4-1/2" discs. (You will be using approximately 4 tablespoons Herb-Garlic Butter per 1 1/2 pound of ground meat).
  • Form hamburger patty fully around one butter disc, pressing gently to seal the disc into the dead center of the meat.
  • (not too much pressing! It will make your burgers dense and tough) Place burgers on hot grill (preheated to high if using a gas grill).
  • Grill burgers until cooked to doneness, (about 5 to 7 minutes per side for medium-done).
  • Place burgers on a serving plate, add cheese, if desired, but do not serve for about 5 minutes, to allow flavors to fully meld.
  • Brush buns with melted butter and toast on the grill for a few seconds.
  • Serve with any toppings of your choice.

  • Preheat the grill to medium/high (350F). When the grill is preheated, place the hamburger patties directly on the grill and cook until the temperature inside reaches at least 375F. During the last minutes or two of cooking, place the pineapple slices directly on the grill, cooking for about 1 minutes on each side, until char marks are visible. Remove to a plate.
  • While the hamburgers are cooking on the grill, fry the bacon in a pan or cook in the oven. Once cooked, wrap the bacon in paper towel to absorb some of the grease.
