GRILLED SAUSAGE BURRITO
Grilled sausage burritos are a big hit for summertime lunch or dinner! It's incredibly fast and easy! Substitute your favorite spicy sausage for the chorizo, if you can't find it at your local grocery.

Steps:
- Preheat grill and lightly oil grate.
- Place whole bell peppers on the grill. Cook, turning occasionally until evenly charred. Place into a plastic bag and allow to cool. Place sausages on the grill. Brown on all sides, then move over to indirect heat and allow them to cook through, about 10 minutes.
- Heat black beans in a small saucepan over medium heat until heated through. Remove from heat and drain off liquid. When peppers are cool enough to touch, peel off skin, remove seeds and stem, and chop. Transfer peppers and beans to a medium bowl, and stir in salsa. Set aside.
- When sausages are done, slice into 1/2 inch rounds, and stir into the pepper mixture. Place tortillas on the grill to warm, about 20 seconds. Spoon the sausage filling onto each tortilla, and sprinkle lettuce on top. Layer with sour cream and guacamole as desired.

GRILLED BURRITOS
These burritos have a great flavor and are very filling. This recipe makes a lot, but it reheats well. You can add or take away any number of ingredients to make these fit your family's tastes.

Steps:
- Brown ground beef and drain.
- While browning ground beef, cook instant rice according to box directions.
- Warm refried beans in small saucepan.
- In a frying pan mix ground beef, enough water to just cover bottom of pan and taco seasoning mix.
- Stir well.
- Cook covered for 5 to 10 minutes until meat and sauce are combined.
- Add cooked rice and kidney beans to meat mixture.
- Cook until warmed throughout.
- Warm tortilla shells in microwave for 10-12 seconds.
- Cover center of shell with refried beans.
- Add meat mixture, then cheese, sour cream, taco sauce and whatever other ingredients you prefer.
- Fold over one side of tortilla, then fold in both ends.
- Finally fold over the other side of tortilla.
- Carefully place tortilla folded side down on a warm/hot frying pan or griddle.
- Let brown then turn over and brown other side.

GRILLED BREAKFAST BURRITO - 1 PAN
My favorite part of this recipe is you use one large frying pan and that's it.

- 1. Heat large non-stick frying pan to med-high, melting the butter
- 2. Add the tater tots and fry until you can start breaking them up (I use a lid to speed things up). Add the sausage, breaking it up into the pan. Reduce heat to medium.
- 3. Add the finely chopped onion and the chilis. Stir frequently for about 4-5 minutes.
- 4. Stir until tots are broken up and browning and the sausage is JUST getting done. Add all the eggs into the mix and stir until they are all done. (You can stir the eggs all up in a bowl if you want to but I just break them all into the mix and keep stirring.)Season to taste. Do NOT turn stove off - just turn it down a little more.
- 5. Place tortillas on dinner plates. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of cheese into middle of each one. Divide the fried mixture into 4 portions into middle of tortilla. Fold the tortilla sides in (like building an envelope) then fold the bottom up, rolling the burrito.
- 6. With the pan still on a low medium to medium setting, place each burrito back into pan, rolled edge down, and let them grill about 2-3 minutes on each side (keep an eye on them). If you have a weight to put on top of them that is great. I serve with pico de gallo or salsa and a fork. You won't be able to just pick these up! Garnish with some torn spring of cilantro.
GRILLED BREAKFAST BURRITO
A soft flour tortilla, rolled and lightly grilled, filled with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, onions, peppers, and two cheeses.

Steps:
- Heat 1/4 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry potatoes until almost cooked through, then add onions and peppers, continuing to cook until vegetables are tender. Drain, set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Scramble eggs, adding potatoes, vegetables, and sausage during the last few moments of cooking. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Top each tortilla with cheese and part of the egg mixture, roll into a burrito. Spray a hot grill (I use a family size George Foreman) with cooking spray. Grill for approximately 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Serve hot with homemade Pico De Gallo, salsa, sour cream, or perhaps Spanish rice and refried beans.

- Quarter the potatoes and place in medium size pot. Add cold water so the water just covers the potatoes. Add 1/2 tablespoon of kosher salt to the water and turn burner on high.

- Del Taco — Epic Scrambler Burrito (Carne Asada) (Ranked Highly) Calories: 1040. As I mentioned earlier, I live in Southern California which means I’m not just spoiled with amazing Mexican food, but there are also more great breakfast burrito spots throughout the city of Los Angeles than I can ever count or actually eat at.
- Taco Bell — Grande Toasted Breakfast Burrito (Steak) Calories: 560. This is the highest I’ve ever ranked anything from Taco Bell. My editor is a huge Taco Bell stan, we go back and forth about Taco Bell all the time and while I’m not a fan of the Bell, I understand its appeal.
- Qdoba — Breakfast Burrito. I had a lot of trouble with this one. I really feel like it should be ranked higher. The eggs look and taste like fresh scrambled eggs out of your kitchen, they’re perfectly fluffy but not so cooked to the point that they no longer have any moisture in them.
- Sonic — Ultimate Meat & Cheese Breakfast Burrito. Calories: 840. I rarely like anything from Sonic and the chain often inhabits the low end of our other fast food rankings, but they sure know how to make a delicious and decadent breakfast burrito.
- Chick-fil-A — Hash Brown Scramble Burrito. Calories: 700. Here we are in the top five and we’ve finally now taken a giant leap ahead in terms of flavor.
- Burger King — Egg-Normous Breakfast Burrito. Calories: 805. We consistently hate on Burger King in our fast food rankings, so I’m always secretly rooting for them to do something well.
- Jack in the Box — Meat Lover’s Burrito. Calories: 810. Beware! Jack in the Box’s Meat Lover’s Burrito is so greasy that your bag will be wet with grease by the time you get from the drive-thru to wherever it is you’re going to scarf this thing down.
- Carl’s Jr. — Loaded Breakfast Burrito. Calories: 760. For Carl’s Jr, I was a little torn between deciding to include the Loaded Breakfast Burrito, which features sausage, ham, bacon bits, egg, hash browns, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo or the Big Country Breakfast Burrito, which is the same thing but swaps out the pico de gallo for sausage gravy — a nice bit of fast food innovation.
