1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2-1/2 cups chopped peeled tart apples
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg. Combine the flour, baking soda and cinnamon; gradually beat into the creamed mixture. Fold in apples and pecans., Transfer to a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 32-38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

Number Of Ingredients 12

6 cups sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons apple juice, divided
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
CRUST:
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold butter
6 to 8 tablespoons ice water

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine apples, 3/4 cup apple juice, sugar, cinnamon and apple pie spice; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Combine cornstarch and remaining apple juice; add to saucepan. Return to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir 1 minute more or until thickened. Remove from the heat. Stir in vanilla. Cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally. , For crust, combine flour and salt; cut in the butter until mixture is crumbly. Gradually add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with a fork until dough can be formed into a ball. Divide in 2 portions, making 1 piece slightly larger. On a lightly floured surface, roll out larger portion. , Line a 9-in. pie plate with bottom crust; trim even with edge of plate. Add filling. Roll out remaining dough to fit top of pie; place over filling. Trim, seal and flute edges. Cut slits in top., Bake at 400° for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender. Cool on a wire rack.

2 cups chopped peeled apples
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup raisins
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pastry for double-crust pie
Milk
Sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°. In a large bowl, combine apples, walnuts, brown sugar, raisins, flour, lemon zest and cinnamon; set aside. , Roll pastry to 1/8-in. thickness. Cut into 5-in. circles. Spoon about 1/4 cup apple mixture into center of each circle. Moisten edges of pastry with water. Fold over and seal edges with a fork. , Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400° bake 10 minutes. Brush each with milk and sprinkle with sugar; return to oven for 5 minutes.

7 cups thinly sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1-1/3 cups apple cider or apple juice
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 unbaked deep-dish pastry shell (9 inches)
TOPPING:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Place the apples in a large bowl; set aside. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in apple cider until smooth. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. , Stir a small amount of hot filling into egg; return all to the pan, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. Gently stir in lemon juice., Pour over apples; toss to coat. Pour into pastry shell. For topping, combine the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle over filling. , Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°; bake 45-50 minutes longer or until apples are tender. Cool on a wire rack. Store in the refrigerator.

1/3 cup apple juice
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter

Steps:

  • In saucepan, cover whole potato with boiling water.
  • Cook about 35 minutes covered till just barely tender.
  • Combine remaining ingredients except apples in small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Peel and cut potatoes into 1/4 inch slices.
  • Arrange in buttered 2 quart baking dish.
  • Core and slice apples into 1/4 inch wedges.
  • Arrange over potatoes.
  • Pour juice mixture over apples.
  • Bake 325°F for 30 minutes, basting occasionally.

2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 cups flour, divided
4 cups apples, chopped into 1-inch cubes (approx 8 large apples)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup canola oil or 1 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 -2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Set oven to 325 degrees.
  • Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl beat eggs and vanilla with a fork.
  • Add in both sugars and beat until well combined.
  • Add in the oil and beat until very well combined.
  • In a bowl sift all dry ingredients except 1 cup flour.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture.
  • Lay the apples on top of mixture, then the raisins, then add the reserved 1 cup of flour on top and mix all together until well combined.
  • Transfer to prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 45-60 minutes.
