Recipe from a friend. Without instant pudding mix. Kid approved! Prep time does not include freezing time.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons Hersheys cocoa powder
2 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, and milk.
  • Cook on medium until thick.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter and stir until combined.
  • Place in molds and freeze until firm.

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
12 ounces heavy cream
8 ounces milk, cold
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate chips (or shavings)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Place bittersweet chocolate into a medium bowl and set aside.
  • Using a medium sized pan over medium heat, ad coco powder, heavy cream, and cold milk. Heat to simmer.
  • Pour milk mixture over bittersweet chocolate. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.
  • Whisk gently to combine, then add vanilla and continue whisking till thouroughly mixed.
  • Pour into popsicle molds and freeze for a minimum of 4 hours. NOTE: A turkey baster will do the trick nicely for filling the molds or you can use a container with a spout, such as a large measuring cup.

1/2 cup heavy cream or 1/2 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Steps:

  • In a sauce pan combine, cocoa, cornstarch, sugar. Blend well. Now add milk, cream, . Cook over medium heat till thick. Remove from heat, add the chocolate chips butter and vanilla. Mix till all chocolate chips are melted and blended well.
  • Pour into molds and freeze.

8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) heavy cream
8 ounces (1 cup) whole milk
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Special Equipment: Icepop molds

Steps:

  • Place chopped chocolate into a medium glass mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Combine heavy cream, milk, and cocoa powder in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk constantly until cocoa is dissolved and mixture comes to a simmer. Remove from the heat and pour over the chocolate. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes and then whisk gently until all chocolate is melted. Whisk in the vanilla extract.
  • Divide the mixture evenly among the molds and place in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid. Fudgepops can be held in the freezer for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
